So excited for this challenge. 😁 I think I’ve decided to work on a woven shawl I’ve had in mind for ages. I’ve already spun a mohair/silk blend for the warp and am working on a pygora yarn for the weft. Pushing myself to spin the pygora longdraw to let myself be a bit more creative and have fun with it! Oh and I’m drinking my mocha peppermint coffee - desperately clinging to my cozy Christmas flavors. 😆☕️

i am so happy to be joining in this wonderful challenge. I have a small stack of handwoven towels ready to be hemmed so I have chosen this as my WIP for today. My warm drink is a second coffee, decaf this time! For me, crafting has been a way to deal with anxiety. I can put my worries aside and sort of loose myself in the rhythm of my work. So, mindfulness is already something I am doing naturally when I am being creative. But, consistency is the one thing that I think would help me the most. I often long to get to my projects, but don’t “find” the time. So, committing to these 15 minutes a day, telling myself that this is for me and is important, I think that will help me to keep moving forward. At least, I am hoping!

Thank you so much for sharing. The 15-minutes has been revolutionary for me. No pressure, I can almost always fit in a 15-min slot. I love the idea of handwoven towels, that sounds beautiful. What type of loom do you use?
@lisaromberg311315 күн бұрын
i have a few looms, i am so lucky! I have a 24” rigid heddle loom, a 24”- 8 shaft table loom, and a 36”- 4 shaft floor loom. I use all three of them to weave towels, depending on the pattern i have chosen.

Hey, I’m twisting a bunch more dog fur cordage ready to make straps for my random weave backpack, but I’m also aiming to get a simple loom out that I brought from a charity shop, to also weave some simple straps. Looking forward to joining in with this challenge, even if the days will be out of order! Thank you for making the a challenge 👍

Brittany, I love hearing all of your ideas and encouragement. I'm finishing a complicated "alternative" i-cord bind off on a shawl. It's a project that I've wanted to do for a long time, so I am quite happy to be finishing it! I'm sipping coffee from my beloved Nespresso machine. Foamy deliciousness! 😂

This feels like wonderful timing as coming into the new year I was feeling the need to get back to more creative doing. I've always done a lot of making but between a very intense year with my job and two small children that has felt impossible. Hoping for a calmer year. The idea of fifteen minutes a day feels so doable so that has been very helpful right away. I did some darning whilst watching this video and actually ended up carrying on for the rest of the evening. Thank you so much!

I received an embroidery/cross stitch for Christmas. I haven't done this for several years, but have continued doing other crafts. I have a few unfinished. Thank you for this challenge as it seems like it will help me be more motivated to complete them.

Wonderful! What is the pattern's theme? Mom (Cheri) is completely immersed in embroidery right now!

I love this! I’m trying to do my first embroidery project using your basket template to learn the stitches. I’m also working on making my own mini trees from soda box cardboard to cover in “glam” stuff for next years decorations!

I love this series 😊 I just got into crocheing & started a blanket which is still a lot of fun 😁 I'm interested in so many things. So, the creative practice is a wonderful concept 'cause then I can decide every time what I feel like working on 😉

Thank-you for this! It is such a good idea! I am here drinking a smoothie for breakfast and looking across the room at an unfinished hooked wall hanging. It was supposed to be for my nephew’s wedding in October. However, life got in the way. Hoping to finish it by the end of January. 😊
@TextileIndie16 күн бұрын
Yep! Life gets in the way, but I’m sure your nephew will love the hooked wall hanging, even if it’s a little late!

@ This challenge was all I needed to motivate me. I finished hooking the sea cave yesterday! I’m letting it “sit” a few days to see if I want to make any changes. I consulted a maker friend today on finishing the edges. I’ve made a decision on the edges that will not only enhance the piece, but also simplify it for me. Looking at my visual journal of our South Korea trip as my next project. 😁

I'm so happy I found your channel and joining in this challenge. I really struggle with just getting started on a project. I'm self taught on most crafts. So, getting the nerve up to jump in and give ut a try is intimidating lol. I'm currently enjoying a hot herbal tea and visible mending my daughters new jacket. Then I'll start finishing a framed weaving that's been sitting 😬
