I was using Discord for the first time a while back to play around with AI and all of a sudden after being on there for about a month, with zero problems they suddenly needed my phone number to verify my identity and keep 'me' safe. I was like, how thoughtful, I think deleting my account would be the safest thing I could do for 'my safety' rather than give you my personal details. They didn't get my phone number and I haven't used them since.

This is most companies now days. I try and use as much fake data as possible. Fake birth dates, fake address, backup email, and a phone you can block numbers on...and a good VPN

I deleted discord from all my electronics. Wether they are cool with my data being stolen/sold or not is irrelevant. Discord has proven to be a liability to user privacy. Discord needs to take legal action.

Privacy is an illusion at best. I don't currently use Discord or any social media platform other than KZbin comments. At least KZbin is up front about saying that they collect Terms we search for, Videos we watch, and Views and interactions with content and ads, but claim they don't sell this data.
