I just came across your page. And, I must admit that I am proud of you for realizing that you should put yourself first. This is what God asks for us all to do. Remember, this a journey, not a race. So, please take your time to heal your heart, mind and soul. The biggest thing right now is to just B-R-E-A-T-H-E and forgive yourself for the past decisions, beliefs and situations you may have gone through. It's important for us to work on ourselves daily and tell yourself, I love you.(say your name) You'll notice that within time you will feel better about yourself. And, you will see yourself letting go of the past bit by bit. You'll realize that the decisions made were because of being nieve, in your ego or just being at the wrong place at the wrong time. At the end of each week you can check in with yourself to see how you are doing. I would encourage you to get a notebook to write down your feelings. Take time to write when your day is good and when it is not. This will help you get through your past hurts and move toward being strong again. Please know, that you are not a victim...you are a survivor. No matter what has happened, see it, experience it but try not to sit in it too long. Ask yourself, can I forgive them? Yes/No and, can I forgive myself? Yes/No Write down every experience you think of and go down the list daily, or weekly and what you can forgive...cross it out and what you can't circle it and keep coming back to it until you can honestly say...I forgive myself.
