Boss: You have an absolutely BEAUTIFUL FAMILY both inside and out!!! Not only have you created a fantastic family business but, it can clearly be seen that you operate well together (even across multiple generations) and also serve your community with absolute honesty and integrity! I hope and pray that at some point down the road, some equally high quality well raised young men sweep your daughters off their feet and also join in to add to the already phenomenal family traditions you already have in place. If only similar families/businesses would pop up in small communities across this great nation we would all clearly be much better off... Don't change a thing - follow your hearts - and please all of you stay safe and happy!!! Love your content...

You should consider cutting your lumber closer to dimensional sizes. We have a WM Super and cut our 2x's 1-5/8" thick to allow for shrinkage. Understanding they will never stabilize at exactly 1-1/2" but they are SO much easier to handle and work with. Plus you get more usable inventory out of a log. Same with the width. Believe that customers find them more desirable than traditional rough-sawn sizes as they can mix and match with store purchases. Food for thought. Keep up the good work!

The steel in the saw blades can be pretty nice. Soft and malleable easy to shape and tough, but heat that stuff up and it can be so hard it will destroy a file or be very brittle. Choose your temper and you can set it to whatever you want. Sometimes I'll grind a saw very lightly so it stays cool, then i can form teeth on it easily without crumbling, other times I'll grind very hard and temper the top so it lasts a long time cutting, but lightly in the gullet so it's easy to sharpen. Also decent corrosion resistance. if i were to make a knife from it I would heat it to red, let it cool on the shank and back so it is soft, but hold heat on the edge longer so when i quench it the cutting edge is very hard and durable, but the spine flexible so it doesn't break. Like orange edge and yellow body or softer.
