I once had a 5 hour transit in Sg but i went to straight to Katong to eat and then had a beer at Cider Pit at Joo Chiat with some old friends before catching a flight to Hong Kong. LOL. Its really easy taking a Grab taxi/taxi from the airport.

Your videos are so informative! I literally planned my tour of Singapore by watching them. I have a 30-hour layover in Singapore next week! I plan to use my Mastercard to get around and pay but do you think $20 will be enough for food? I plan to go to the Maxwell Food Centre that I saw in your other video for lunch and then to Satay Street for dinner. I'll probably buy street food too.

Very helpful video! Curious about your last point - Singaporeans don't like small talk. Why?? How then do people socialize? Please do let me know 😀
@dashingheights
@dashingheights Ай бұрын
Thank you for your kind words!!! Generally in Singapore people don't like talking to strangers on the street. When I was visiting in US/AU often times strangers would come up and strike up a conversation, however this is not the norm in SG. If you'd like to meet and talk with locals, I recommend joining interest groups such as photography / hiking, where people would meet up and do an activity together. In such environment people are more comfortable to chit chat :)

Hiya, what does CIS stand for? Just need to make sure they are not charging you for things that are actually FREE to do. For example, the SGAC is FREE to fill in, don't need to pay any money for it. There is a page for Armenia passport holders: www.ica.gov.sg/enter-transit-depart/entering-singapore/visa_requirements/visa-detail-page/armenia

i have never heard of SG based home-stays so i cannot recommend. However, there are a LOT of local interest groups that may give you the experience you are looking for. Check out Meetup.com and search for local groups based in SG. There should be some local events where you can join a group of people doing something. I've seen hiking groups, cycling, gardening, board game, mahjong, etc. So you can pick and choose which activity that suits you to meet the group of locals!

Hi, should I exit the airport? Is there a possibility of getting back to jewel to explore the next day.
@dashingheights
@dashingheights 29 күн бұрын
what passport are you holding? if you have an entry visa into the country you can exit the airport and re-enter for your connecting flight. the Jewel is in the public area, so you can come anytime, though I suggest just exploring Jewel on your last day. Do an early-check-in, depending on your airline see how early you can do so.

@dashingheights thank you very much. I have a Fijian passport, which is visa free. Since I will land in Singapore at 5.20am and most of the attractions will be closed at that time. For Transport, Taking Bus : Never board the bus at the back or the bus driver think you are fare evading unless you have a valid reason. E.g : You are on the wheelchair, the front of the bus is occupied. Tap when entering the bus. Always plan which bus route are you taking. Taking Train : It is recommended to plan the route as it would be easier to get to the station and you can save money. If you need to change lines, stop at the station with the line you are changing. The train lines are usually connected. When entering the station. Tap in the fare gate and follow signs to the train station if needed. Do Note you must have enough money and it is recommended to use a card as buses sometimes do not have anymore tickets that you can buy. Tickets have a limited amount of stop which I know is inconvenient but you have to deal with it if you are buying a ticket.

@dashingheights

As long as you like! Personally i suggest exploring the airport on your way OUT, so that you don’t have to carry your luggages around after you check them in. Many of the exhibits are 24 hours. Some of my favorites in the public area are the Kinetic Rain in T1, Waterfall in T2, and definitely the vortex in Jewel
