I miss Singapore. Haven’t been back for 20yrs. You’re right about small talk. I remembered saying hi how are you when I was at a supermarket check out line to the cashier and she looked at me funny.

@dashingheights5 ай бұрын
Thank you for your kind words!!! Generally in Singapore people don't like talking to strangers on the street. When I was visiting in US/AU often times strangers would come up and strike up a conversation, however this is not the norm in SG. If you'd like to meet and talk with locals, I recommend joining interest groups such as photography / hiking, where people would meet up and do an activity together. In such environment people are more comfortable to chit chat :)

I plan on taking a cruise from Singapore and need to stay 1 night with my family in a hotel for the night before the cruise, I will arriving in the airport, what hotel do you recommend for such a short stay? Thank you!
@dashingheightsАй бұрын
If you're planning to just have a good rest and get on with the cruise the next day, I recommend Outram Park area, personally i used Dorset: affiliate.klook.com/redirect?aid=60453&aff_adid=971590&k_site=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.klook.com%2Fen-SG%2Fhotels%2Fdetail%2F396992-dorsett-singapore%2F (it's an affiliate link) Reasons: 1. Directly connected to Outram Park Train station, which is on the green line, very easy to take a straight train from Changi Airport 2. It's also near to both the cruise ports in SG, direct Purple line to harbourfront OR 1x transfer to Marina cruise center If you're booking via KLOOK you could use my discount code ^^ "DASHINGHEIGHTSKLOOK" Though you might need to create a new account and set the account's region as SINGAPORE to get it to work.. BONUS TIP: - if you have the night free to explore, check out Keong Saik road, you might find a nice dinner spot there - If the morning before your cruise is free, walk down to Everton Park or Chinatown ENJOY!!!!

You said it’s more convenient to use credit card to pay for transportation, and each travelor need to use different cards, I am traveling with 2 kids age 9 and 11. Would buying tourist pass be more helpful to the young Trever or?
@dashingheights2 ай бұрын
the STP is only worthwhile if you're gonna use the other discounts that come with it. For pure transportation alone it's unlikely you'll spend that much per day. So best case is if you have spare credit cards for them to use. If your trip is 3 days or less, maybe STP is still more convenient If your trip is longer than that, EZ-link card will be cheaper

I'm going to a show in the National Stadium, and im afraid to book a hotel there, and it'll be hard to come back by using public transportation. Can you help me please?
@dashingheights2 ай бұрын
heya, thanks for your comment ^^ Katong is a great place for food gems, esp along joo chiat. there's a nice row of peranakan houses too. But these places are not the easiest to find especially if it's your first time. Indeed it's difficult to take the bus or train after a concert. However from my experience the train and buses could still manage so I feel that it's not a limitation for you to MUST have a hotel nearby the stadium itself. Unless you are planning to walk to your hotel after your concert, in which you could try Geylang area (but beware avoid booking hotel on "Lor 18', there are many adult entertainment spot there). or slightly further is haji lane/arab street. PERSONALLY if i were you i will just choose one of the areas in my recent video about where to stay, since you'll be here 6 days, you'll only have to worry about transport on your concert day. The other days you can happily enjoy exploring! ^^

For how long one can stay at Changi airport... And explore ... In cases where flights are landing around 4:00a.m
@dashingheights7 ай бұрын
As long as you like! Personally i suggest exploring the airport on your way OUT, so that you don’t have to carry your luggages around after you check them in. Many of the exhibits are 24 hours. Some of my favorites in the public area are the Kinetic Rain in T1, Waterfall in T2, and definitely the vortex in Jewel
@abhinavrock942 ай бұрын
Your videos are really helpful. I have one query, I'm planning to visit jewel on the day i land there. Can i visit it? Or i can visit it only while departure? Im leaving Singapore on road, and it won't be possible to visit jewel if that's the case.
@dashingheights2 ай бұрын
Thank you for your kind words! Yes you can. After clearing immigrations just go straight to Jewel. The NEAREST terminal is T1!

For Grab or other ride apps in SIN, do you know if the drivers allow a family of 7 (5 adults and 2 child under 11) to ride on 6 Seats?
@dashingheights14 күн бұрын
For GRAB, I checked that the biggest car you can book is a 6 seater that only fits 4 adult && 2 children For TADA, 6 seater fits 5 adult && 1 child

For Transport, Taking Bus : Never board the bus at the back or the bus driver think you are fare evading unless you have a valid reason. E.g : You are on the wheelchair, the front of the bus is occupied. Tap when entering the bus. Always plan which bus route are you taking. Taking Train : It is recommended to plan the route as it would be easier to get to the station and you can save money. If you need to change lines, stop at the station with the line you are changing. The train lines are usually connected. When entering the station. Tap in the fare gate and follow signs to the train station if needed. Do Note you must have enough money and it is recommended to use a card as buses sometimes do not have anymore tickets that you can buy. Tickets have a limited amount of stop which I know is inconvenient but you have to deal with it if you are buying a ticket.

Hello, I'm arriving in T1 with Emirates. Where can I find Emirates chauffeur service cars?
@dashingheights16 күн бұрын
heya i dont know if there is a dedicated Emirates chauffeur spot. I did see some people pay for meet & greet - this way the driver will wait for you at arrival gate after immigration. If it's a pickup appointment, there is a dedicated car pickup location in T1 B1

this is very helpful. I watched the full video but I couldn't get the idea how to get to T1 from T4. Please help me, my arrival is at T4 and what should I do to get to T1. I want to see rain vortex
@dashingheights3 ай бұрын
You must take a shuttle bus from T4! It should take u to T2, where you can catch the skytrain to T1 :)

@dashingheights7 ай бұрын
Bring your identification document such as a passport, and buy a simcard at the starhub/singtel booths or at convenience store 7-11 or cheers :) HONESTLY you dont need a number in singapore if coming as a tourist. However if you’re staying long term it’s essential

Yelp, that face, that face, that face represents a face of Singapore??? If you continue to use this face, Singapore will be just another city in Asian, believe me. And look at the way he talks, look again, yes, that is him. yelp, yelp, yelp. Look at that face again, that face is a face of Singapore. Buddha helps me. ( I am from Zurich, Switzerland).
