Not sure if it is "hard" to pick up. Evil Princess spends every moment of their encounters belittling and emasculating the Prince, and now suddenly wants to make a man and a King out of him? The only explanation must be Seia expecting him to be so broken and with enough Stockholm syndrome to get along with anything she asks, logic be damned. Because if the fiancé start growing a spine as a result of her "training", things may become ugly for everyone involved. Unlike Seia, Prince has nothing to lose

While Seia has an interest in keeping the prince compliant, she clearly enjoys rubbing salt into the wound over and over. She has several personal reasons: the cost of war for her country, defending her brother's relationship with his wife, disgust toward the Prince's attitude.... Either way Seia is awful.

Awful but not ill intentioned. From the beginning bits to her likely briefly speaking of the prince. It seems more as if this is the only method she sees as “fixing” him. He’s done horrible things both for his own reasons and pushed for others. We don’t even know how far he was manipulated before, even the letter spoken of could have been intercepted and edited to make his delusions worse. And taking the other talk from him from the foreign princess series alongside this one. It’s not impossible he slowly got broken down till he believed this truly was something he must do. Which makes Seia’a manipulative actions either an act of the ends justifies the means. She doesn’t know any other way to get through to him, or she yes, is just that evil. While awful I don’t think she’s as much a villaness as the title says.

Imagine being Princess Thiena, trying to enjoy your sister-in-law’s wedding reception, and you see your husband’s twin walking your unhinged childhood friend on a leash. He was once proud and had a massive ego, but now is obsessed with another woman, is suspiciously weak (due to the strength reduction collar) and unironically responds to “my pet”, “Kitty” and “pspspspsps”. That would ruin my whole week. I’d have a visceral reaction.

So as I can tell…Seia is still broken. She reminds me of Silco from Arcane, if my assumptions are correct. In the end, I feel for the Prince who’s ultimately forced into a rough spot now from his actions, and now, his shattered self(Yes, he’s likely a broken man too), is now in a predicament where he has “choices”, but it’s basically his former one with extra steps.

This really adds context to how the Prince of Claris thinks and how he vies the hierarchy. It actually looks like the Villainess is trying really hard to convince the prince of how he's powerless, weak, humiliated etc. Which makes me think that's not actually the whole truth (if any), and despite sircumstances she depends on him at least as much - psychologically. If prince plays his cards right, he can trick her into believing she's in the control and is one holding a leash while in reality it will be the other way round

I had a similar theory as well with the prince that the whole war from 'blind love' was only a red herring that is to step away from the shadow of his sibling and seek approval from his parents only for it to backfire and only show the true colors of his parents never caring about and possibly lost his only family that being his little sister

Ok, I gotta admit, even though the audio is excellent and it gives a little more background to Seia, but after listening to part 1, I hated her; and now, part 2 just helped reinforced that hatred; I can't tell if she's being legit honest and trutful or she's a master manipulator. I don't get the impression that Seia is actually a villain. She just seems very pragmatic. She even harbors a level of understanding for this prince's emotional outbursts, impulsivity, foolishness, and entitlement out of sympathy for a rough childhood -- and that's probably more patience than I would have with someone displaying those types of negative personality traits. It just seems like she's in charge of integrating this newly annexed nation's people into their greater empire and having the prince's cooperation would make that process much easier and safer. I think she might actually harbor some genuine care toward her fiance as well -- but I do think she's playing too many angles that ultimately undermine her efforts. Degradation, disrespect, humiliation, and intimidation don't work well when paired with rational arguments, emotional appeals, and affection, I think. If she'd prefer that this prince love or at least tolerate her -- it may be better to leverage more positive forms of persuasion. Machiavelli may have said that it's better to be feared than loved, but some of the very greatest rulers in history worked in a different way. Catherine the Great, Alexander, Julius Caesar, Empress Theodora, and many other legendary rulers knew that securing their position and solidifying their control was best done through cultivating love in their associates and subordinates. Catherine won the love of the Russian people in a startlingly short time, managing to be accepted as Empress of the Russians despite not even being Russian herself. Her quick conversion to Russian Orthodox and public displays of piety earned her the support of the church and the Russian people at large, and when she stole that Russian soldier's green jacket and rode out with the army, she became more Russian to them in a way that's more convincing than ancestry. Julius Caesar's legions loved him so much, he was able to keep them together even after they'd been declared traitors of Rome. He then forced marched them for more than 3 days with no sleep and very little food or water to then lead them into battle against a numerically superior enemy entrenched in a fortress located on a hill that would expose the attackers to brutal missile fire. When they predictably started to break from the massive casualties inflicted by withering javelin volleys, he stole a shield and ran out ahead of his army towards the fortress alone. It was fear of his death that drove his legions to run after him -- and actually win that battle against Pompey and the senate and ultimately see him crowned Emperor. There is no amount of fear that would convince someone to do something so utterly suicidal and insane. Only love can inspire that kind of loyalty. Seia's best chance at ensuring compliance and a cooperative relationship with Prince Adept would likely involve cultivating a more positive relationship with him. Maybe she has issues overcoming her impulse to dominate and control, or maybe she has difficulty setting aside contempt for his actions against her family. In either case, if I were her adviser I'd suggest a gentler and more consistent approach with the prince.

Two very broken people, while she is not a good person, she's probably better than her and the prince's mother. I feel that she does want to help him but she's going about it a bit of the wrong way. This could be a good relationship of mutual support and understanding or it could be of manipulation and mutual abuse. It's really shitty but I know exactly what this is like. Literally to a T. Me an my ex both had manipulative mothers exploiting us for their own support and to their own ends. And we used and indulged each other for our own ends. She took greater leverage over my emotional vulnerability despite my families higher position in the community. Her mother was basically trying to push her for the closest thing to a political relationship. We were bad for each other and I eventually pulled myself away but fuck this stings. Oh hell I even just lost someone I was obsessed with because I couldn't read her feelings and was blinded by my obsession and infatuation. I've always said that my life really seems like a tragic romance story at times but I didn't think it'd be that literal XD PS. I'm still a very broken person but hey at least I'm in a relationship that's mutually supportive. And thanks for a story that cracks open my barriers and let's me cry for a bit. Catharsis helps so much.
