The Musical Explorers program builds basic music skills in classrooms daily as students learn songs from different cultures and reflect on their own communities. After focusing on three musical genres each semester, in-person and digital concerts allow students to “meet” the professional musicians that have guided them on their musical journeys through the Georgia Lowcountry and beyond!
Savannah Music Festival is dedicated to eliminating barriers to music education access by providing lessons, online resources and more at no cost to students.
In addition to helping to underwrite Savannah Music Festival’s (SMF) springtime festival, contributions are vital to SMF’s work to provide year-round music education programming to more than 10,000 students throughout the Coastal Empire.
Last year alone, Musical Explorers:
Hosted 10,000+ local K-2 students at an in-person Musical Explorers concert
Provided free online curriculum and resources to 13,000+ additional students
Served students from 123 schools in 23 states across 7 countries
