I have always had good experiences with fishing line. Can tie it to say a wall anchor an wrap it tight around the object and then to another wall anchor. Same goes for small figures you want standing. Staple it to a shelf and can pull it tight over the feet of the figure.

for the Balroog I would use a bunch of the white plumers tape on the joints till they fit tight and if you wanted to you can remove the tape any time its non adhesive you could also make a bit of an anchor from the wall to the back of the statue also i love the Homer Simpson set so cool

Hello. I use hotglue in joints like that. It supports the joints and is easy to peel off when done. For supporting the entire figure, get some wooden dowels, paint them black or whatever, then drill a partial hole in the floor and tap the dowel into it. Then position the balrog in front of it and attach with whatever you see fit.

Excellent video!!! Now just a friendly word of warning. Laura, you may want to put something between your Balrog figure and the wall like a poster or wall hanging of some kind. Preferably something you wouldn't care about damaging. I had a Neca Queen alien partially propped up against the wall on a high shelf where it rested for a few years, but recently, I decided to move her to a different room. When I pulled her away from the wall, part of the plastic on her tail and head piece had somehow fused to the paint, pulling some of it off with her. I had to touch-up the wall, and carefully scrape away the paint that got stuck to the figure. And I'd definitely look into either buying a solid, bottom heavy, stand, or making one. Neca stuff looks great, but is extremely fragile. And by the way, the Aliens franchise is my favorite. Predator is great, but I'm not really into the sequels.

You could anchor it to the wall using screws and a fishing line. Like tie the line to the screws in the wall and loop it around the figure to secure it

Making a base or stand would be good. You could also drill an anchor into the wall behind the Balrog, screw a cup hook in, then use fishing line to strap the Balrog down.

For the Balrog, how about using the 1/6 scale stands like the Hot Toys uses, get three to put below each wings and one below him or behind him depending on the stand figure holder

😍Oh I almost forgot, I had to repair mine because it had apparently fallen off the top shelf and broke so i reinforced my joints with steel and epoxy and stuff called( green stuff) so my tail and my wings are all reinforced . It takes a little bit of work you have to drill out the previous Peg or should I say put a hole in the peg and then fill it with epoxy putty or liquid and then shove in the metal rod and then place the two pieces together and hold till it sets and it makes it so it is super 💪 I will be making a video of this soon🥰🥰🥰

You could try fishing line to help support the weight of the Balrog. Fishing line is strong easy to work with and not easy to see. Put some anchors behind the Balrog with the fishing line attached.

I would recommend using something which will support the entire figure, and take some of the pressure off the limbs. He is so heavy that the joints of his legs, wings, and tail can snap under his own weight, even though though they are reinforced with metal. A support stand that is placed under his centre of gravity would probably be the best idea.

Use museum putty for that Balrog! It works wonders. I live in California, so I hate to earthquake proof all of my stuff. You can use it to hold the wings in place too

Nice start on filling another room. The back lighting is a great effect. Perhaps you can craft a base for the Balrog which would allow a 3 point stance. Reinforce connections with a bit of appropriately tinted modeling putty. Stay well.

There is nothing wrong to display toys ( vintage, retro or modern ) in all the rooms of the house. Example: Food-topic toys are great ornaments in the kitchen & dinner room, statues in the office or library room & living room. For a collector it's so normal. 😁 Nice and icy pieces You got! Make that lord of the ring devil statue a stand. Probably secure it to studs in your wall, it’s so top heavy. It’ll fall on your pets. Then you can add other figures with confidence . He’s bad ass

Hey Laura, maybe you can stick some double sided sticky tape behind the two wings so that they stick to the wall for support and then you can also put some under his feet so he stands more stable on the closet

Shims can be made from clear clamshell packaging for loose joints. 40lbs test fishing line is what I use hang heavy model aircraft from the ceiling. someone commented about anchoring the figure to the wall, that would be the way to go.

Good luck getting that bad boy to stand up. I've got mine on top of the shelf in much the same way and it's just a matter of hoping gravity is kind. I've tried sticky tack and fishing line (bad idea because it tipped over and nearly ripped the wings off). Just be careful, don't slam the door and hope for the best.

Two words. Double-sided tape. Ok…three words but you get the idea. I use the double sided tape to “anchor” and stabilize any of my more top heavy display pieces. The drawback is some residue might remain on the surface but fear not! “Goo-gone” will remove that in a jiffy! The tape comes in a variety of applications. Gorilla glue makes a good one that is super thin AND strong too. Sincerely, Wes.

I think a plinth might be a good idea to stabilise balrog,you don’t wanna wake up one morning & find him shattered into a million pieces! That episode of the Simpsons you mentioned,i’m sure danny devito voiced uncle herb. FYI,dog soldiers is a film about a bunch of British soldiers on a training exercise out in the countryside,but when it gets dark,they’re attacked by werewolves. Its definitely worth a look. 😁🇬🇧🐺🇨🇦 Saw the batman the other day & it was good,although a little long at 3hrs,eagerly awaiting Morbius & top gun maverick!

Love that shelving Laura! I use similar shelving for my online toy store on eBay. Here's a huge SpaceSaver tip for you. You can actually stack those shelves once you put them together, and just tie them together with a couple of decking screws so the 2nd tier doesn't slide. Target has all different sizes for those cube shelves. So if you wanted to add say 2 more rows on top, you could buy a 2x4 (8 cube) shelf, and turn it sideways and lock it in with a couple decking screws. Or if you can fit it, you could get another 4x4 (16cube shelf) and lock it in on top. Then you can have your toys go all the way to the ceiling!
