I'm 68 years old and do you guys remember the SEARS catalog? There were 7 kids in our family and we would have to take turns looking at the toy section in the catalog. Never got anything out of it but it was always fun to look at.

I remember fearing alligators in the sewers as a kid in the 80s 😂. What if one comes up the toilet when I’m sitting on it?!?

I ordered a chameleon lizard which came with free mealworms. Upon opening the small cardboard box, my expectations were shattered seeing the poor thing 3/4 eaten due to improper packaging. The gimmick part of this purchase was that they sent you a Anole lizard rather that the color changing chameleon that they advertised. Shoulda went with the monkey I guess 🐵

I bought the 7' Frankenstein's monster for $1.25. $1 for the monster and 25¢ p&h. I really expected a 3D life-size Frank; but it was only a vinyl poster, with little glow-in-the-dark stickers to stick on its eyes. Oooohhh hooooo hooooo hooooo ho! Very scary. And very big disappointment.

I had the sea monkeys and the x-ray specs. And I also fell for the ventriloquist device and an accordion that turned out to be a plastic toy. I want my money back!

That 6 foot skeleton was nothing but a cheap, thin plastic glow in the dark poster. I bought a toy gun from a comic book and all it was was a tiny key chain gun that shot one of those plastic caps.

I remember getting some itching powder which worked like a charm. I also got the army kit and still had some fun but they didn't match the packs of more realistic ones I could get at Woolworth's I might have purchased others with my allowance but none stand out like the powder and army kit.

Just Noticed the So called Hull Number on the cardboard Submarine is 743 🤣 I served onboard the real USS Louisiana SSBN (743) Ohio class Submarine. Thank God Electric Boat in Groton,CT didn't build the real one out of Card Board!
