Mate, you just made me cry seeing those toyota timing replacements made me remember those days as a OJT in Toyota Dealership in Philippines, where my technicians i helped were replacing timing belts on Innova, Hilux, Fortuner and Hiace and sometimes Prado in engines of 2KD and 1KD . I remember being my hand bruised removing those screws on timing belt cover and seeing technicians or mechanics replace oil seal then i remember they say , if you lost the small lock above the camshaft pulley and its game over, then taught me those correct torques for the pulleys especially tensioner then i was in charger of rotating them 4x then we test start the vehicle. Ah good times.

do you remember torque specs for the bolts ?

I'm a Toyota apprentice and love seeing timing belt services. But what would you say would you do would you also replace the water pump with the new timing belt because you're already at the location where the water pump sits? Even if the pump doesn't leaks maybe prolongs the engine and you don't have to worry about a pump for 150k ....?

Those water pumps from Toyota can keep working very long. If something goes wrong then it is seal. Smaller engines from Toyota can keep original water pump way over 200k. I think 1 KD engine or 1GR have also the expected quality.

@@The_Touring_Jedi are the seals replaceable ?
@The_Touring_Jedi4 ай бұрын
@@roadwarrior7401 It's the seal on bearing od the pump. It can be fixed all together with bearing but very few are into this. Price of the new pump is much affordable in countries of the collective West then repair in the East. You won't believe what people can repair in Eastern Europe for example. There is no such thing those guys can't repair and it's not expensive.

What happens when you crank pulley mark doesnt match you diesel pump pulley mark? Gearing out? Pull apart front of engine? Off by about 5mm
@Fourby4Diesel3 жыл бұрын
Well it would depend how it got like that it can’t get like that on its own!?!
