Such a fantastic idea! I have never thought about it this way. Typical thinking (in my opinion) is to record as many DIFFERENT songs as you can, but it is much quicker and easier to record the same song, and do as you mentioned. Love it!

Not the way I would have thought about putting it but I 100% agree that learning is the thing so often lacking. Particularly learning to understand how you studio really works, not in the maths but in the ways that become unique to you in particular. People wade in and then fill the hole of learning with copies of Tricks & Tips. The idea of taking a track and doing it different ways is good. One on One is great too. That is the old Master-Student thing that built all our arts & crafts (incl the Industrial ones).

Glad you liked it brother! Master and the student- so odd that that is lacking in our field these days!

You're spot on. My mind goes crazy thinking of making and releasing tracks in my home studio. Haven't thought of recording a song over and over again! I think I should do that!

really great advice, Chris. I often forget how much fun i can have when writing or mixing. I think i'll try and rewrite some old songs in a new style.

Thanks Lachlan! That's AWESOME! Did any of the songs turn out better when you did them in a new style?
