Greeting Chris I sent you a track via your website. I do not if you got it. The phone number on your site don't seem to work. By the way my name is Yakub... How can I reach you brother?

Welcome back, Chris! I was thinking of you for a single a couple of months ago but I had no idea you’d be back and had to go with another engineer due to time restraints. Glad you’re back into it, man!

I think the conclusion is it's all about the songs! If they are good enough, and you are vulnerable and genuine (which is the key) - the rest doesn't matter

This method does not work in Pro Tools. In Pro Tools you must select both tracks and then solo the first track then hit the shift and + buttons and then S button to go back and forth. Its kind of a pain in the ass compared to Logic which is a lot easier.

I totally agree with this approach to music. I myself recorded only once in a "professional studio" and was really dissuaded from what I felt to be an overly-technical, creatively-restricting environment. Also, it costs a LOT of money to record even just one song at most of these studios. The producer tried eking out of me as many sessions as he could to sate his ego, but I walked away being the unsatisfied fool. I come from the tradition of Sufjan and Elliot Smith, Nick Drake. All in a league of their own, recording with a shitty Rode N1A that I've had for years along with a Focusrite preamp into Audacity is all I need. I think that if you are already a unique enough instrumentalist/singer-songwriter, the music should stand by itself. Sufjan Stevens also has a version of 'John my Beloved 'recorded on an IPHONE and it still holds up!

I have a feeling that politicians excusing pedophelia for the sake of money may very well be guilty of the same thing. Money and perversion, the cause of total ignorance in our "justice" system.

Thank you so so much for being so brave and courageous to share this sentiment in the social domain Chris!! Your kindness reminds me of Chester Bennington, another person I've never met in person yet love from the bottom of my heart. I feel like I've been in the same boat not realising for years that something in the past has traumatised me. Behavioural therapy is what I'm going for. Jordan B Peterson is of help too. I wasn't abused in the same way like you, yet I remember my own mother pushing me down the stairs at age 6 probably because she also had a trauma when she was a kid. She was unsociable, nobody gave her attention, encouragement or a frame in life..needles to say, same goes for me.. between age 2 and 4 when it was crucial for her as a toddler to be given attention, while growing up with the lack of such as she also grew bitter and resentful, resulted in personality disorder. And it's evidential that it has made its way down to me. All my life, wandering recklessly without a proper system, no fatherly or motherly model in how to live, I have numerous times though of just disappearing of the face of Earth. Its ridiculous how underlying and deep those thoughts stem from, and we even have no idea in how to articulate them.

Chris, I've know you for a while, and if my opinions worth anything, I'd advice this. Do not leave it behind, delegate, you've build a brand and a client base. I would think that just as a supervisor you would win on the two main sides, more time and fulfilling all the hard work you did

Chris, even though I was looking forward to having you as my mastering engineer on my project... I absolutley respect your decision and want you to know how much of an inspiration you have become to so many people... I count myself among them and I thank you very much for that. You're serving your god-heart and walking in the light of your truth. Your courage is a model for others to embrace and emulate. You have my unwavering respect. All the best to you in your journey and may you have God's blessings throughout this life and into the next... Peace, Love and Good Happiness in all things, David.

Record stores have become a thing of the past. Nostalgia doesn't last long, and people grow tired. Now, I like albums. I like CD's as well. But they don't sell anymore. I invested in a good Bluetooth Speaker and have unlimited access to streaming. It's the wave of the future, and fighting it will only hurt. I won't stop buying physical formats of my favourite bands, but I won't stubbornly cling to the past, either.
