I love this song, I heard it at church yesterday. Everything I went through in 2024 was devastating for me and my 2 young children, but God was always by out side. Now I see more unravel and I see God's work.. Praise the Lord!

This song strikes me. My home church is closing in two weeks. I have received and invested in the lives that have passed through for the last 21 of its 106 years. I know that the work has borne fruit and will bear more fruit we cannot know. I believe God is not done with the individuals that make up our small church family. But, as we meet a few more times and disband, the loss is deep. The Church will continue, but it is hard to watch our church die. My prayer is: All that is broken be healed.

As a farm wife and mother to 6 children, this song just deeply touched that weary corner of my heart. The part that wonders if these years of sowing in these young hearts will leave a soft ground for God to work because somedays my part of the work just feels too hard and insurmountable. But God... this song helps me rest in Him.

My husband passed away suddenly one week ago. My life was given to love and serve him, though imperfectly, all in hope that he would come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. So many prayers...so many struggles...29 years of committed love and trusting God was working in his heart to bring forth the one thing I hoped for most, him coming to Christ. I do not know if he ever did. His last day was a terrible struggle. But even in that, with all he was suffering, God's arm is not too short to save. So my hope remains my prayer was answered and on that day before the Throne I will see him worshipping the Lord of glory...as I always hoped he would. My heart is at peace for I gave him my all, and in spite of the many times I failed I am reminded that God will bless beyond what we can produce and in that be glorified. Your song spoke deeply to me today, sent by close friends who know us both well. Every lyric spoke to where I am and have walked these past 3 decades. God has given it as a gift to a grieving heart. Thank you for being His vessels. ❤❤❤💔

Our hearts go out to you in your sorrow at your husband's passing. Have you ever read 1 Corinthians 7:13, 14 ? It says "the unbelieving husband is sanctified through his believing wife." I hope you will find comfort and assurance in these words.

Hi Wendell! I cannot tell you how meaningful this song is to me as a missionary. It brings tears to my eyes every time I listen to it. The task just feels so overwhelming, the soil too hard and commitment so rare. I often feel like a failure, and I often feel totally alone. Your song is a beautiful reminder that God's grace is at work even when I can't see it...He is the one who brings change, not me. And He is the one who deserves credit, not me. How encouraging to hear His voice in your lyrics...how comforting to be reminded that He never leaves me. It seems there is always more for me to learn about His grace and His love for me. And I rejoice in the promise of the "destination worth the weary way"...how I look forward to that! Thank you for your faithfulness in proclaiming the beautiful message of the Gospel. Blessings to you. All glory to Christ.

I heard this on the Hallow prayer app today, and it touched such a deep place in my heart. I felt the presence of the Lord Jesus so strongly in that moment, His forehead up against mine and His arms wrapped around me in an embrace of tender, unconditional love, mercy and reassurance. He sees me, He hears my prayers and He knows the deepest cries of my heart. He is with me. Thank you for this incredibly beautiful song.

This wonderful song found me during a critical and emotionally challenging time while serving with my family on the mission field two years ago. The Lord met me; he gave me comfort and hope. A couple months ago, in a new ministry, I passed through a very challenging personal struggle and this song once again played an invaluable role in settling and bringing peace to my anxious heart. Thank you to everyone who was involved in this. I am eternally grateful.

Your labor is not in vain though the ground underneath you is cursed and stained Your planting and reaping are never the same But your labor is not in vain. Your labor is not unknown though the rocks they cry out and the sea it may groan. The place of your toil may not seem like a home but your labor is not unknown. For I am with you, I am with you. I am with you, I am with you For I have called you, called you by name Your labor is not in vain The vineyards you plant will bear fruit the fields will sing out and rejoice with the truth, for all that is old will at last be made new: the vineyards you plant will bear fruit. For I am with you, I am with you. I am with you, I am with you For I have called you, called you by name Your labor is not in vain The houses you labored to build will finally with laughter and joy be filled. The serpent that hurts and destroys will be killed and all that is broken be healed. For I am with you, I am with you. I am with you, I am with you For I have called you, called you by name Your labor is not in vain (2x)

wow!...thank you girls and guys for your words, musicianship, heart, skill, attitude to produce such a powerful reminder of a great God truth! I've been listening to this and other songs that the 'porter gate project' has written, like you Steven Kroeker, with tears streaming down my cheeks. Thank you so much for coming together and doing this! I've been feeling down and discouraged lately, feeling like years and years of journeying with friends and family, sometimes just seemingly sees them drift further and further away. It's true, our friends and fam are people, not our projects. And, God's agenda, not ours. We stand to attention each day, and must humbly ask ' what will you have me do?'...but our role isn't to try and take God's job of heart and mind transformation and renewal. Phew! thank God for that eh! No, we must love love love, listen listen listen, and outwork grace and mercy and kindness with one hand, ...never letting go of Jesus' hand with the other. A few months ago a good friend of mine wanted to know about my faith, and what calling myself a follower of Jesus meant. What an open door! lots and lots you could say here hey! I told her that " it means that I want to, and choose to reflect Jesus to everyone i meet, regardless of who they are, what they believe, where they've come from, or how they treat me...even though i will inevitably do this imperfectly". When all is said and done, i cling, in faith, to this simple refrain ' I am with you. I've called you by name. Your labour is not in vain'. peace
