Here I go with my thesis cause I’m always long winded 😂😂😂😂😂 EMOTIONS 🤯🤯🤯🤯 such a heavy topic!!! I love the quote from the therapist!!!! I’ve always been on the fence about the generation before us doing “the best that they could”. In some cases I strongly believe SOME did the best they could! With some, I believe they DIDN’T do the best they could. What I mean by that is let’s say I was raised in a loving, two or one parent household. My emotional, physical, spiritual, and mental needs were all met! I was raised in a healthy environment. I grow up, go into the world, meet someone, get pregnant, and now I’m a mother. I give birth to a child I really didn’t want because I’m supposed to be out here living my best life. I’m too young to be at home raising my child. I’m supposed to be outside 😂😂! My parents refuse to raise my child. Now my child grows up with me neglecting them, not providing the basic needs, being abusive, etc. And it wasn’t because my parents gonna raise me right, it’s because I was selfish and made the conscious decision not to do right by my child. There are some parents like that, unfortunately. I think it’s soooooooo important to be able to honestly recognize when you’re not ok, and to know you’re not “weird or crazy”. I grew up in survival mode Feeling safe with myself first should have been some thing I learned early on. “if we’re moving based on human emotion, how are we supposed to get to a place where we are moving and acting in GOD’s image?” “if we do not hone in on emotional control, and we allow our emotions to drive us and move us and be the thing that determines what we do and what we don’t do, how we act and how we don’t act, then we will prevent ourselves/delay getting to our purpose place because we’re stuck in our emotion”. I love the way you used the “first person talk” when you said “I’m experiencing feelings of sadness” versus “I’m sad right now”. I’m learning more every day that words really do have power. So you really could speak something into/onto you. that was never intended for you; objective vs ownership Thank you for the tips you gave at the end. There were 3 that stuck out to me the most: Know what you need, therapy, and self care. I struggle with therapy, and I’ve tried therapy before. My struggle came into play before sessions. I’m a social worker. My mind is already in therapy, help, healing mode when I go in. I’m already paying attention to the language of the therapist and find myself saying “ma’am, I already know this and these terms” 😂😂🤦🏾‍♀️. THANK YOU FOR THE BIBLICAL REFERENCES!!!!

My experiencing lack of emotional control these days few days made it harder than hard to watch this one Bri ngl 😮‍💨 But God kept it on my heart to! He’s teaching me about consistency lbs & I’m so glad bc the spiritual (my fave part of #TahariTalks✨) was exactly what I needed to shake off those uninvited covenants I’ve been attaching to myself 🙌🏽 The battle truly isn’t ours & I appreciate you for constantly reminding us who is in control 💯🙏🏾😇

As someone who practices Buddhism I found this video really helpful regardless, enjoyed the wisdom! This is an interesting perspective in relation to Christianity and cleared up some things I perhaps didn't understand as a child about the religion
