I've heard many iterations, many variations, and many pianists - all greatly talented - play this piece, and by far this is my favorite performance. There is a softness to it without sacrificing the urgency and realization of the inevitable pain. I'm not sure which hurts worse 1) the more frantic versions that tell the listener to run to the inevitable, or 2) this more subdued version that reminds of someone saying "take your time, let it sink in, but it'll be alright when it's over." I'm overanalyzing, and I digress. Thank you for sharing.

@@kevinseopiano I'm very glad you did. I just recently started getting back into music, and after almost 20 yrs it still amazes me how much freedom there is in the interpretation of a single piece. One of my all times Favorites and I can't express how much I feel most of the Soundtracks of this anime in a whole different level when hearing or playing them and trust me, you make me feel the same way. You play it so beautifully, inspriational, impressive, full of emotions and what not. It really brings back memories ;-; I am so glad I've been able to hear to one more YLIA Soundtrack played and arranged by you :) loved it
