RESTART your life in 7 days: bit.ly/44bCbK0
On Today's Episode:
The future of jobs, democracy and humanity are constantly changing and constantly being threatened with the rise of technology. With the rise of social media, biotech, and infotech covering everything from your social life, your online life, to your healthcare, algorithms and artificial intelligence are inescapable and highly influencing your decisions, thoughts and emotional state.
Yuval Noah Hariri is best known for the profound and influential work he did giving a complete overview of human history in his bestseller, Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind. Yuval looks at how technology and cultural beliefs impact human progress.
Yuval is a historian and professor of History at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and the co-founder of the social impact company Sapienship. In this episode with Yuval, we’re forced to question, what are the real issues we’re facing as humanity?
Even more importantly, are you prepared to survive and thrive in this world shaped by data, biotech, algorithms, and corruption?
Yuval and Tom explores ideas around
Constructing your own story
Understanding power and how it corrupts
3 principles you need to thrive future
Yuval Hariri thoughts:
“It’s the first time that we invent something that can take power away from us, [...] every previous invention in history gave more power to humans.”
“Somebody that has all the information of all the people, they basically control everybody.”
“Humans don’t really fight about objective biological things, [...] they fight about fantasies in their mind.”
“When info-tech merges with biotech what you get is the ability to create algorithms that understand me better than I understand myself.”
“Our identity is really just a story which we constantly construct and embellish. The entire human mind is a machine that constantly produces stories, and especially one very important story, which is my story.”
“Fantasies often shape history and cause people to do terrible things.”

Yeah they're everywhere. Part of the problem is that we as a culture have allowed vultures to confuse us to consume us. We are waking up to the responsibilities, but we're not one cohesive mindset yet. By this i mean, we should all be influenced by the same way common goals. If we don't even focus on that how can we get more and more people to become commit to a life of self regulation for self improvement? It's like we need to bring public school to social media to cover insights necessary for a good mindset that doesn't interrupt motivationin everyone

Yuval does not want to be your overlord, but Trump and the fascist movement he inspired in the US which dovetails with fascist movements around the world most certainly does. There are plenty of connections between the fascists supporting Trump and the fascists among the movers and shakers of the WEF.
@ClintJohnsonWriter
@ClintJohnsonWriter Жыл бұрын
@@flickwtchr The very purpose of the WEF is to pave the way for enslaving the world economically and socially to a Globalist Ruling Class. The reason you freaked out about Trump was that their lackies told you to freak out about Trump because he was not a controlled asset like Hillary. Trump was just another politician. Sure he was better than Hillary, but that bar was set below ground. At least he kept the US out of their planned war with Russia for another 4 years. No, the big problem was that he was running for President only to lose to Hillary and so when he won they freaked out because he was not one of them. That is why they made sure in the next election that he would not win. You do not even understand what fascism is, they just get their media to point at anyone who opposes them and scream fascist at you.

These are very valuable rules for anybody who wants to get rich. Unfortunately, most people who will watch this video will not really be able to apply the principles. We may not want to admit, but as Robert Kiyosaki once said, investing is like any other profession-- it requires a certain level of expertise. No surprise that some people are losing a lot of money in the bear market, while others are making hundreds of thousands in profit. I just don't know how they do it. I have about $409k now to put in the market.

I get that a hyper-digitalised future where all our personal info is shared with algorithms is not an outlook most people seek. I would hate that myself. However, AI is indeed here, companies have a lot of public data at their disposal already, and so on. I think its good there is someone like Yuval to describe and discuss these very real opportunities and threats. In order to prevent or influence future scenarios in our favour, we need to anticipate and analyse these scenarios first. I think it's wrong to call Yuval "evil" (I see that a lot in these comments). It's okay to have different opinions, but I plead for tolerance. That's something we could use a lot more of on this planet.

I think, much like the old stigma of the “Made in China” label, AI generated lessons, books, art, theater, etc., is going to be seen as cheap. Humans have powerful egos and place a high value on themselves and their own work. Just like “hand glazed” makes a tile more valuable, the “Human Hands” label is going to do the same thing in certain future markets. How far that idea extends culturally and economically will be interesting.

@@BoRisMc Interesting! We have a house full of pottery and art, most not terribly expensive. I am an oil painter and musician and I make my primary living teaching people to sing, so my world is full of people who value the arts. Maybe this less than “usual” lifestyle tilts my feeling. It may end up as another separation between the haves and have-nots. AI created knock-offs versus human created goods, clothing, etc. In any event, it will be awhile before we literally have robots with high level motor control handling all the tasks of life. I find it more concerning that coding is going to be more easily managed via AI. I am absolutely certain that will be true and already IS true. If humans don’t learn code as part of their base level education, we won’t understand the language being used by our own creations which in turn, they will be using to create more of themselves. Arnold Schwarzenegger much? (O; We are already losing cursive because of keyboarding, so easy to imagine voice activation taking over keyboarding. If AI handles coding, why spend the money in our public schools to teach it? It should become a base language alongside English, but will it?
@BoRisMc

@@voiceanddrum as for the art part, that’s great! I’m still doing my own molds and castings my self in my workshop downstairs. No Ai will take the pleasure of making with my hands from me. As for the code part, I don’t think we need to learn to ”code” anymore, but we definitely need to learn how to think computationally. These are different things, one having more to do with the implementing and the other more with the first principles side of things. We will be able to code using natural language so long as we know the right architectures, design and computational principles, and so on. Cheers! (Tldr: coding as we know it is dead)

I'm glad I was able to get intouch with my coach, Joseph Sullivan Anderson, earlier this year because, while others were complaining about inflation, I was busy cashing out from my Diversified-portfolio, finally making over $370,000 for the first quarter of the year. My portfolio recently reached 6-figures, and here's what I have to say about it. It is important to carefully analyze your options and keep an eye on the economy when investing during inflation. Make sure your portfolio consistently reflects your risk tolerance and financial objectives by reviewing and rebalancing it. A financial advisor can offer tailored advice based on your unique situation and assist you in navigating the challenges of investing during inflationary periods.

This lecture was eight months ago and it’s chilling. Yuval is prescient regarding Ukraine and what would happen. Personally, I don’t think Hamas (backed by Iran, encouraged by russia) would have attacked Israel had russia been defeated with an influx of Western weapons in Ukraine in a timely manner. But russia saw an attempt to distract the West by dangling the prospect of an Israeli attack in front of Hamas. The era of peace is over. Yuval is stimulating and truthful. No cliches, unlike the other guy, who is overly fond of buzzwords and memefied concepts, ultimately signifying nada.

Castration was used in various historical societies for a variety of reasons, such as punishment, religious practice, or to create servants or functionaries who were less likely to establish their own power bases. The castration of individuals, often to create eunuchs, was not a practice unique to any one culture or religion. In Islamic culture, the use of eunuchs within the caliphate's administration or court was common. However, it's important to note that Islamic law explicitly prohibits castration. Eunuchs were typically enslaved individuals who had been castrated before being sold, often in areas outside of Islamic jurisdiction. Eunuchs often held significant roles in the courts of caliphs and sultans. They were used as chamberlains, treasurers, and teachers for royal children and sometimes held considerable political power. For example, in the Ottoman Empire, the Chief Black Eunuch (the head of the African eunuchs of the palace) was one of the most powerful positions in the empire, due to his close relationship with the Sultan and his family.
