I'm considering Lyric hearing aids. I split my time between our home in Delaware and our cabin in Northern Michigan. There are Lyric providers in both locations. With the subscription does Lyric pay the audiologist and therefore can I be treated at either location under the subscription?

I had bad ear infections when I was very young. My audiologist is recommending Lyric. She asked if I have ever had a perforated ear drum, and I said I had no idea. She said the pain would be severe, and I would know if I had had one, so I said no. When she looked in my left ear, she said she could see some scar tissue, meaning I had probably had a perforation at some point in the past. She still seems to think I'm a good candidate.

I had a drama slight hearing loss and tinnitus that is bothering me, but I have a very specific work, which is working with dogs that is sometimes barking. … can I in those situation put head muffles or even insert regular plugs in my ears. ?

Is there any Lyric or other in ear product that doesn't give that plugged ear feeling? I think my canals are narrow. One side moderate loss...have not been able to help with anything other than behind the ear which Id prefer against.

It has to do with the depth of placement and/or venting. Typically Lyric doesn't have this issue because it is placed deep inside the ear. If you use a different in the ear hearing aid, you need a larger vent to let the vibration of your own voice escape your canal.

@@DrCliffAuD The other one I've tried is a CROS by Signia I think. Same "plugged" sensation as though I'm underwater and can hear myself talk way too loud, which is very distracting.

@@jimferris6762 same issue, depth or venting. I guess it is possible that the amplification is set improperly as well.

@@DrCliffAuD Makes sense. I guess then assuming the challenged ear has enough function to respond to amplification, a non-CROS solution would be optimal, with good fitting, venting, etc. as you suggest. Thank you.

The first question to ask if these hearing aids are suitable for you is do you have deep pockets. The second question is, do you care about Bluetooth connectivity? You can't have extended wear AND the power to run a wireless connection.

Hai iam Manoj pujar …. Iam using Signia styletto AX , my problem is when I use them my left ear feels closed , is it bcz iam using closed dome ? Plz suggest remedy 🙏

I, Personally, am not a fan of Lyric products. It is SO narrow as to who is a good candidate for a Lyric that most of the patients I see are NOT good candidates for it for various reasons -- the amount of hearing loss they have, issues hearing in background noise, physiological issues with comfortably wearing the devices, issues with soreness and possible infection, etc. In addition, they area EXTREMELY expensive for what they are, a 1-year subscription typically costing $3,500 for a pair. For that amount -- or less -- the patient can get more advanced technology, including fully digital processing (Lyric is analog), directional microphones, Bluetooth capability, and many more things. Most importantly, daily wear products last typically 5-10 years, whereas Lyric is $3,500 PER YEAR. Just not worth the price for the vast majority of people.

Will not recommend this product as it generate more was and then does not work. Also not recommended in hot summer as ears are warm and can swollen up...
