Using only 8% of the total military budget but Marines provide between 31% of all military ground forces actions, 12% of fighter aircraft and 19% of attack helicopters! We need to invest more in the USMC. They deserve the best we have not the leftovers!

I backed a Hummer and trailer full of gear into an air force cargo plane, assisted in strapping it down when the aircraft crew leader looked underneath the vehicle and noticed oil and transmission fluid leaks. He looked at me and said, " you g-d Marines won't drive a vehicle unless it's leaking at least 2 fluids! I'm just glad you make the enemy leak even more. Frugal indeed.

I was a skinny 150 pound 6foot tall californian, in may 74 when I left, I really wish I would have stayed for my 20 years it would have been 93, wow I didn't graduate from college until 86 workin full time the whole way. Didn't work out buy it is the greatest thing I ever did 1/4 March 74.

Taking over the A-10 program would be much cheaper and much more valuable to the missions of the USMC. I don't see the F-35 being capable of performing as well as the A-10 for the Marine Corps objectives.

@Dave Duh? I'm saying it should be made a Marine asset. Since the chairforce doesn't want the A-10 platform and the USMC is getting rid of their tank units because they are not mobile enough. But 0311's love the flying tank and its brrrrrp gun as an asset. But having a command structure of pogs and paper cut vets have made the insane decision to get rid of the SAW for the M27 to the alarm and dismay of the actual fireteam grunts who are the actual combat units (little MC). The little marine corps vs the big marine corps. I'm sure nobody in the upper ranks of the USMC has the brain power to understand the significance of the A-10s abilities on the battlefield just as they don't understand the difference between the SAW and the M27 on the battlefield during an actual firefight when you and your bois are in the shit on the ground. Like when you are facing 50,000 Hezbollah militants about to overrun your Iraq embassy when General Soleimani arrives from the airport and your light barreled M27 with a 30 round magazine loaded with 28 rounds is supposed to equal the firepower of a SAW with a 200 round magazine of belt fed ammunition. But hey, they already destroyed all of the USMC SAWs. Now they have airsoft M27 instead.

Don't believe everything the media says. Ed Eaton a decorated Army sniper was told by a North Vietnamese General a few years ago during a visit to Viet Nam that he appreciated that US troops made it a point not to harm women or children during the Vietnam war including losing their lives protecting the women and children.
