The Dominican Republic, one of the most beautiful places on this planet, with some of the best beaches, landscapes, rivers and mountains you can possibly imagine; friendly people, great social life, incredible gastronomy, things to do and places to go 24/7, and, on top that, social, political, and economic stability (3 attributes very rarely combined); we are right now the seventh strongest economy in Latin America, with foreign investors pouring from all over because of the 3 factors above mentioned. Que viva la República Dominicana 😊

All of that might look good on a bumper sticker but doesn't paper over all the poverty that you can see when you take the teleferico. In terms of square foot that poverty covers Naco, Piantini and, well, the entire Distrito Nacional more than ten times over and that's just in Santo Domingo. Admittedly, Santo Domingo is a extreme case because all the economic activity and the "low skilled" labor it attracts relative to the rest of the country but other provinces have similar pockets of poverty and arrabalización. The people there don't have places to go "24/7". That we're the "7th strongest economy" in the region also means little to them in their daily life.

Exactly James. My view’s is; let the Dominican people worry about the negative aspects of their country. My wife and her family knows how to navigate everyday levity there. When I finally move there, my job is to make me happy; and create the conditions so she can be happy. I just don’t see why I should be seeing doom y glom in such a beautiful country. No way brother. 👍👍👍

Dee, I wish i would had thought to say this "let Dominican people worry about the negative aspects of their country". Brother that's spot on. That's really how I feel. It's not for me to worry about. I can't fix it, I can't vote for the person to fix, so leave it alone. And as you say instead focus on creating condition to make you happy and at peace. Damn, I should have consulted with you before making this video😅

I’m a NYC girl living in Atlanta and have Dominican parents, lived and went to school there as a young adult…. I’m also very well traveled…. In my life’s experience I’ve noticed that you can’t listen to people. Some people can live in the most beautiful place, have the best life and still see the negative in everything…. And vice versa…. It’s a mindset…. Btw you’re starting to look more and more Dominican my friend 😂 ❤😊

I have to say that the most friendly, kind, humble and noble Dominicans can be found in the small towns outside of the big cities - I have been impressed with the people in Samana, and I hear the same about the people in other little towns - Cabrera, Río San Juan, etc. I was raised in Santo Domingo, and there I know, in good Spanish, “el que no corre vuela”. Would love to know if you or your wife have experienced any of that.

I think you’re spot on re: shift in perspective & focus on positivity. However, while some persons are negative by nature, I think that others are actually being defensive (based on some comments that I’ve seen, as opposed to intentionally negative). What I mean is, when they see & hear content about why others are leaving the U.S. for various reasons, some may see it as criticism, in favour of another place, then feel a need to come to the comments to highlight all the negative aspects of the other country, as a form of defence. I see it a lot on various channels. Otherwise, best of success on your journey 💯

Yes you are able to get insurance here and still be living in the US. However, dental coverage works different. You typically pay that out of pocket and then get reimbursed through the insurance company based on what is covered.

Unfortunately, I don't. I recommend sign up and creating a profile on a platform called Upwork.com and Freelancer.com Both are great platforms to find remote work.

@andreturner8292 it's definitely a lot of land on the northcoast. A youtube channel can be a good revenue source but in my opinion it has to be done right not to mention take seriously if one plans to make money from it.

@JayAbroad yes I agree brother 100% But I'm also trying to buy a 4 to 6 unit apartment building so I can have some American money coming into my bank account. Plus my retirement money on top of that. I should be ok......if my plans works....but time will tell.
