Your Monitor Colors are Wrong | How to Calibrate with a SpyderX Elite

Calibrating monitors is one of the most overlooked parts of creating content on a computer. In this video, let's walk through how to calibrate a monitor with the Datacolor SpyderX Elite and also calibrate all of my computer monitors. All of my computer monitors were out of calibration (Even my pre-calibrated displays!), but now all of my displays are consistent with their color, brightness, and contrast.

I calibrated my LG-GN27950B and I feel like the Calibration made it worse. The software made my monitor very dim and it now looks yellowish.

Humm... your own image is not calibrated... greenish, flat (your screen captures are); are you sure your monitor is well calibrated?

I know that look isn't for everyone. Was shooting in my dining room with some of my lights on as practicals and decided to lean into the color cast of the lights. I like trying different colors and lighting setups on this channel - not everything will always work but it's fun trying it out!

In your favorite go to spot, is there still a drone stuck in the tree by the parking lot? I was there 2 years ago and saw it in the tree (not mine). I'll be up there in the next couple of weeks.

Do you know how to create multiple color profiles? Like when you first Cali rate the display it tells you to set everything to default then adjust your brightness to fit your room lighting. I did a dark room last night but was one for when the lights are on aka Bright room. So when I did that, the dark room profile will no longer be the same cuz I had to reset everything to default to do the bright room profile. Easiest way to out this is, for dark room my brightness was wayyyy down to like 7 but when I do bright room after resetting everything l, it wants it at 48 which in turn changes the monitor color setting I was on which was the User mode. Any help appreciated

Hey there sorry for the late response, yeah! You can recalibrate the display and save as many presets as you’d like. When it comes to getting “the most accurate” colors though using their recommended ambient lighting conditions is going to be the best since there is no other outside light affecting the colors of your screen. Bit you could also just use the default settings for general use, then only use the calibrated profile when you’re in ideal conditions and need color accurate calibration. There is a section in this video about switching color profiles on a Mac and pc
