What about success rate when shooting action then? Weekly I shoot stationary objects indoors and I can control the pace of work and "some" of the lighting. Monthly for my recreational shooting it could be several outdoors competitions: martial arts, watercross and motocross, or skateboarding. Video and stills. Knowing from the viewfinder and from audible clues that a lens is hunting makes me helplessly nuts in those cases.

So glad i found this video. The speed and value is pretty damn insane! Plus i just found it for 50% off on amazon. Seems to be reliable even though i have not heard of the brand before. But i'll give this a shot! *Edit - apparently even bigger discount on the OWC website itself right now

Just got the SVH15 head and noticed even when the tilt lock is fully locked that I'm still able to move it slowly if I pull on it a bit. Though it hasn't drifted while there is a rig loaded on it (tested with around 10-12lbs) , it's giving me some doubts.

I’ve been flying my Air 2S in FPV mode since last summer and love it. I was hoping you were going to get into the menu and talk about how to tweak the settings if possible. For example I feel like when you yaw left or right, it feels aggressive and the jerkiness shows up in the video. I was wondering if I could go into the settings and make it less aggressive. I can always be gentle on the sticks too but to do those tight turns, I need that to be smooth as I can get it with no jerkiness.

I would never use a monitor on my setup because It will destroy my HDMI ports. If you plan on doing it please buy cages. I will stick with an old phone that I will connect with the gimble. Way easier and less stress on the camera and gimble.

One of the legs on mine slides down. I think only men, or women with super strong grip, can lock these. So far I strongly dislike this tripod. Cannot compare to Sachtler.

The windowing is due to it being RAW. The only RAW shooting cameras that do not window, currently, are the URSA mini 12k, Ursa Cine 12k and the upcoming Ursa Cine 17k 65.
@billyoung953816 күн бұрын
Use a constant quality instead of a fixed compression ratio, and most of the time your files will be a fraction fo the size, but with equivalent or better quality. Q5 is really good.

Life's too short to worry about $$$$ difference. Get the best and forget the rest. 😅 Got 70-200 f2.8 OSS GM2. Very happy with the performance. Fast focusing and pics are sharper than Sashimi knife. 😅

Terrible blackmagic camera
@paulinoo218 күн бұрын
Thanks for the video, very interesting !! personnaly I went for Vespid I think it's smooth to the skin, and since I want to film characters in short fiction films I am happy I made that choice. I think Irix is too sharp and Athena a bit yellow but I really depends on what you do. Overall, I think Dzofilm lenses are more lively.

This was confusing because of the on-screen titling. MegaBYTES is expressed as MB MegaBITS is expressed as Mb (lowercase 'b') Also comparing bit rates is only viable when the codecs are the same or comparable. The Blackmagic RAW is using wavelet compression which is excellent for many reasons bit not NEARLY as efficient as H.264 (XAVC in Sony speak) or H.265. So it takes much more data rate for BRAW, Red RAW, ArriRaw, or ProRes RAW, to look comparable to XAVC. But because those codecs are less compressed they take less power/GPU to decode on the timeline giving smoother playback in a lot of cases and being less susceptible to the artifacting XAVC can get with complex motion while recording.

Nice review but this doesn't seem like the right camera for you. The Pyxis is pretty narrowly focused on narrative film making and a lot of the negatives you brought up are positives for us in narrative. It also seems that a lot of the quibbles you have are down to you used to being in the Sony ecosystem. Not getting s battery. Only camera I've bought in the last 30 years that came with one was a Sony. The sensor noise. Sony does noise reduction in camera and you can't turn it off. RAW means RAW. You do your own NR to taste in post. You control exactly how much you want and what kind. Same on an Arri, or a RED, or the Sony Venice Codecs. The Sony Codecs are generally awful for high motion and are generally considered the weakest in the industry. If you are doing talking head, BRAW is huge overkill. I wish BM would have included H.265 or H.264 like you have in the Sony's for this very reason. Heat dissipation. Heat naturally rises. It's most efficient to let it vent upwards. In narrative the only time we have our hand on the top handle is to move the camera from place to place when it's off. No weather resistance. Common with narrative cameras. Pick up ant RED or Arri from the past decade or more. You'll see the same. Emphasis is placed on keeping the sensor cool for better noise performance over weather protection. Dynamic range in various ISOs. Most cinema camera manufactures publish this info. It's less common to see for consumer cameras. AF. Hardly used in traditional narrative film making. Hybrid shooters have been pushing the AF thing for years though and cinema cameras are starting to respond. But it's just not a priority in most narrative work. Same story with built-in NDs. Best of luck with your search.
