The book and the 1984 movie are pretty awesome. Got to keep in mind that the central religion in that story is based on Islam, however--although a mutation of Christianity is mentioned in one paragraph. Frank Herbert predicted that the ecumenism of his own day would lead to pairs of religions being blended--Buddhism with Sunni Islam, or Hinduism with Christianity, for instance.
