That is going to be ages from now if ever... PlayStation will have to rewrite all of the contracts with all the third party publishers for this to happen. Similar to what Xbox is doing and been doing for years supposedly, and they are only planning on adding around 10 games to the cloud streamable games every month or two (once the feature goes yto everyone and not just the Xbox Insiders Alpha Tier)

@@BUPMY1 It's similar to duel entitlement... something you can only do on Xbox/PC on some games. Where if you buy it on Xbox, you also get the game on PC. If you were the publisher of the game, you would want a contract to give you more money before letting Xbox sell your game on console but also give the game away on PC for no more money... Yeah that aint happening. So older games before this was a feature have to get new contracts written up n signed before they will incorporate those features.

Unlikely, cloud streaming is locked behind the premium tier even without the Portal. That’s one of the benefits of upgrading to that tier. While it would be nice to make it available to everyone, it would remove the incentive to get that tier and they want people to spend more

For those who are saying they want to play their digital copies, that would require the portal to have a higher capacity of onboard or expandable memory to store the games and be able to play them natively. Otherwise, you'd be streaming your library with the same connection as when you stream Playstation Plus games.

@JB-tk4rt That would have to cost extra. Because I'm sure they would need additional servers to accommodate the addition of everyone's libraries. If I'm not mistaken, if the library of your PS5 is digital, you can switch over from cloud gaming and access your library that way. I can access any of my games from my digital library of my PS5 with my Portal, even before this most recent update with the beta cloud streaming. Just like their servers, your connection to your PS5 is only as good as the Wi-Fi. I have my PS5 hardwired to my internet router, and the connection is fine for story games but not competitive with online multiplayer games. Same scenario as the cloud gaming on the Portal.

Yeah you can you just need PlayStation app and subscribe to ps plus premium, so make sure premium is available in your territory otherwise you may not be able to play cloud streaming .

Hello I've watched your latest PS portal video, but regret to see you , Digital Foundry, haven't noticed an audio delay on the Portal: video stream 's latency is close to 0ms, while audio happens way latern about 100/200ms later. and it seems that the portal's haptics are synced with audio, so are delayed compared to the video. This issue happens on either Remote play OR Cloud gaming. Lots of people have noticed this for a whole year, and still Playstation/sony have no reaction. This is not a Wifi problem as i have wifi 6, and 8 Gbps connection. Please, I beg you, can you investigate on this issue and publish a video analysis on this. I am 100% sure that: 1/ this is a software issue, as the ps remote play on iOs and Android does not have this audio delay. 2/ it affects ALL Ps Portals I suppose it has to do with audio codecs and/or bandwith of the audio (why? : because you can tweak thoses things on PC made app like PXPlay / Chiaki, and you can remove the audio delay by tweaking these settings. I think you have a big enough influence to make Sony/Playstation react and find a solution. I mean, this is not logic that the 1080p 60fps video is nearly perfect with a close to 0 latency, while the much lighter audio to "transfer" (and dualsense haptics they are synced with) takes much longer. Examples of Games where you can easily notice this big issue : last of us part 1 & 2 (with gun shots), The plucky Squire when the boy jumps, and every other game you can play on ps5 or cloud. The biggest proof of this issue if to play PS remote play app & PS portal with the TV ON, and see the sound differences : video is nearly identical, while audio is perfect on Ps remote play app but disappointing in PS portal. Please help us and make some noise about that. thank you a lot in advance

Yeah, GTA Online was no bother. I've tried loads of games with no problem getting in; I never experienced any streaming issues. But funny you say that, my connection dropped for the first time after the update, but connected again and hasn't had issues since! Maybe a boot system from the update restarted it?

I’d love a portal. I have very good internet and when downloading big games upstairs, it’s really quite fast. As router is downstairs I don’t have strong internet strength, I can’t play online as I everything feels smooth but when I shoot etc it don’t register. I tried remote play with my phone, granted old, I tried horizon streaming from my os4 and it worked walking around but trying combat was stuttering mess. I thought about getting wi fi extender but I’m unsure if will work.

When the portal first came out I had no issues logging in and internet interruption. Now, recently my portal takes a long time to connect and the internet gets interrupted quite a bit. I don’t know if Verizon is the issue because I had to change my plan. Sometime , when at home and the interruptions still happen and I’m on my home internet now.

HEY YALL SO JUST ONE QUESTION i need answered before i decide to buy: If I live with my wife , and we only have one ps5 in the house , my account and her account are on the ps5 , if I log into my account using the ps5 and my tv and start playing cyberpunk and she turns on the ps5 handheld and logs into her account and starts playing genshin impact will it log me out of my ps5 experience as soon as she logs into her account on the ps5 handheld thats connected to the one ps5 in the house. easier question: can me and my wife simultaneously play games at the exact same time (her on the ps5 handheld and me on the tv) on the same ps5

You can if she is playing on the portal via cloud game streaming with her PlayStation plus premium account and your on your own account on the PlayStation 5, but you can’t both play if she’s using the portal via remote play as remote play uses the power of the ps5 to render the games and then beam it to the portal.

No not natively but if you check out my first accessory video I show you a trick to use any Bluetooth headset you want 👍 unfortunately the portal doesn’t have a Bluetooth chip inside it, The PlayStation Portal is compatible with audio devices that use PlayStation Link wireless technology, such as the PULSE Explore wireless earbuds which kind of sucks they excluded all Bluetooth headsets in favour of their proprietary tech

@thomasbuck2581 No! You have to already have your PS5 switched on and in rest mode, I want to be able to switch it on without it being already on and in rest mode, just like if you were to switch it on with your controller

The Portal became 90% less usable for me when it stopped allowing me to use it with my mobile personal hotspot while not at home.

Streaming from the cloud is awesome. My PS5 isn’t hardwired and I don’t do rest mode really (PS5 in a cabinet i leave open while playing). So I am really hoping for digital library access.

Matrix was just an early Unreal Engine 5 tech demo. I'm really hoping since they have the assets and likeness of Neo and Trinity already that it becomes a full fledged game one day.

Yeah was a tech demo to show off the power of unreal engine 5, so hopefully we see more games looking like this soon! Or even a full matrix game would be amazing!?

That would be interesting! That would be amazing but I still don’t think it would impact the switch 2 that much as it will be able to play games locally without internet which the portal cannot, we need to wait for the new PSP for that which they are working on, would a new standalone handheld like the PSP interest you?

You should be able to stream your PS4😢 to your portal the reason why I say this is because you can stream PS5 to PS4😢

The biggest L of it all is Sonys inability to let us change regions. I moved from UK to USA and game share with myself in an American account to buy games in just to play on my main account which is Uk, I can’t use cloud features on game share so I miss out on this feature completely…
