I feel like my mixes are pretty solid, but they are static. The art is knowing how to either ride the faders or automate a mix. There is very little information on this, as you probably need to study under someone to learn to do it well.

I think consistent LUFS is more important specifically to people making dance music. Supplying DJs with songs that have consistent levels is a way to get in their good books.

Referring to your discussion at 11:30 regarding width and panning, in your "Music Mixing Workbook" you discuss setting the pan to 11:00 and 1:00 or 9:00 and 3:00 etc. in a number of excercises. Is this not adjusting the width?

Yes, but a width control generally allows you to set an equal amount on both sides, rather than a smaller amount on one side and a large one on the other.
