I attended Pitt and absolutely LOVED my experience. I feel like I had a generally more positive experience than these girls but to each their own. My four years in Pittsburgh have definitely made an amazing impact on me!

Being a current Pitt student I disagree with almost all of this, I know all student's feelings are different but there are a lot of great opportunities and organizations on campus. Pitt has huge school spirit half the city basically shuts down on game day and the campus is very active. Towers is also a very good option for housing being the most popular housing option for freshman. If perspective students are watching this to decide whether to chose Pitt, this is not an accurate description I would definitely do your research and go on a tour

just for reference i got in their biology major with a 3.68uw and 3.86 weighted gpa, but college application process is really random and it depends @@soappy_

@@soappy_ Not the original person, but I got in with a 3.6 unweighted GPA, 6 APs, an internship I did in high school, a volunteer experience, and 5 extracurriculars. You don't need to be at the top of your class, just be a well-rounded student. I'm currently a rising senior at Pitt

I've lived this area my whole life lol and the weather isn't bad. Its a blessing. Its called water and sun is out half the time so great. And no college cares about YOUR degree. Thats all 4 year schools. Money over you.

I agree! Every university puts profit before helping others, but Pitt is extremely helpful in assisting with everything that you need to achieve your degree! I thought a lot of this was very negative.

i’m going to pitt in the fall and i’m super excited! i’ve lived in pittsburgh my whole life, so i’m used to the weather (that’s mostly what you guys hated haha) also i HIGHLY recommend visiting the mattress factory!! i go at least twice a year and it’s by far the best museum in the city

This is a very negative outlook on the university. Pitt has many opportunities. They can help you network with many big industries such as Google and UPMC. The staff is extremely helpful. Pitt also has a lot of school spirt, people trace from everywhere to see these games. I feel like these girls just had a bad experience and this video is a reflection of that.

They were honest, and this is the most important. Everybody has different opinion. Thera are some other videos on KZbin with different people and different points of view. All people are welcome to check out other videos. But the best is probably to visit the place.

hey, it is what it is! you’re making a financial decision too when it comes to college so if this was your best option then make the best of your time here! if there’s anything I regretted about Pitt, it’s letting my own attitude towards the cold hold me back - don’t go in with that mindset that you could be somewhere else 💛

@@magic1058 That's a complicated question. In my opinion, there are certain situations that can affect this decision. Let's say, you want to have just a bachelor's degree. if the degree you receive unlocks greater earning potential, the price tag may be worth it. In fact, you may be able to pay off your tuition even faster than you would if you attended a less expensive school and earned less as a result. I hope it helps, but there really isn't a right or wrong answer to that question. It all depends on you.

lived on upper and lower campus. experiences are drastically different. i'd recommend lower campus.. towers/quad freshmen year just to be in the middle of everything.

I don't mean to sound rude but obviously what you guys want to enjoy in a city or urban university is partying, big school, easy classes, etc. living in this city my whole life and going to Pitt was literally a dream. The weather isn't as bad as you make it, there's TONS of things to do around the city and in it, mount Washington never gets old, and you need to actually spend more than 4 years here to understand that. you obviously just want your degree and that's it if you get all this from Pitt. if you want an honest review of Pitt, watch pat Gardner.

I realize that was a LONG time ago, but I agree with your honest assessments of the U. and of the city. I loved both. Running in Schenley Park was one of my favorite things to do. I went on to grad school in the PhD program in Chemistry at CalTech, and left there with a master's degree in Chemistry (working in a neuroscience lab) before earning a PhD in Anthropology at UC San Diego, where I now work. So Pitt really launched me. The weather is much better in San Diego, of course, but my loyalty to Pitt is higher than my loyalty to the other two schools.

OG Pitt alum here. Lots of changes since my time there. I feel like Leadership made some poor choices that undermined some of the positives I experienced. For one school spirit - moving to the ACC and discontinuing the Backyard Brawl with WVU was a mistake. They chased football money but Pitt was elite in hoops the entire time I was there and for a while after (RIP Big East 🥺). No slouches at football either. Although the park across the street from the Library is nice - the food trucks and Scottie selling glizzies on the corner was great too. Gave Oakland a more urban vibe. Club Laga was dope - got to see the Roots, Wu Tang, and Nas right on campus. The O (Original) was popping all night and the Reggae Parties at Ginza and Cozumel used to hit. Cumpies, Pittsburgh Cafe, and India Garden used to go and then you had the Shadow Lounge in East Lib too. Towers Lobby, Chesterfield parties, Mad Mex, Matrix, the clubs in the Strip District, Carson Street…good time man 🎉. People used to lay out on the lawn of Soldiers and Sailors. The best part was the rest of the city though!

I should say academically that Pitt got me ready for the world. I was a Bio/Chem major Africana Studies minor. My brother and I both got connected with our first employment opportunities through Pitt too. Had a nice undergraduate research resume by the time I graduated and Pitt still gets respect on my resume to this day. Def not the choice for best weather but I wouldn’t trade my time there for anything!

Not sure Pitt specifically but generally yeah, describe your situation and provide documents that would support your appeal if you have them (ie tax forms, offers from other schools, etc).
