Please mention about the social security deductions . 24 % is deducted from the gross salary for social security. Apart from this one has to pay income tax ( multiple slabs - avarage 13/14 % of total salary ) Cost to company (CTC) is much higher in France. For every 1000 euro salary of the employee the employing company has to spent 1450 euro ( 450 euro extra as social security cost to Govt. ).
