Those who feel like their texture is the reason they can’t grow long hair have internalized texturism, there are hundreds if not thousands of informative videos on how to properly care for Afro textured hair. A routine as simple as having a low manipulation style like mini braids and making sure to wash and condition weekly or every two weeks, dusting your ends and making sure to moisturize in between would almost always guarantee hair growth.

Absolutely! They will come up with any excuse under the sun even though we have seen so many grow afros

@@MaNoZuEvery time I see a TikTok post with a girl crying about her hair, saying she's tired and wants to relax it after trying everything, when you look at her routine, you realize she's done everything except use water and conditioner. And she's still blaming her "gEnEtIcS".

@@LoXena I cringe whenever I see them try to detangle dry matted hair even though I’m sure they’ve come across many flaxseed gel videos. They hate water in their hair cause they hate shrinkage and frizz, how do you hate the normal characteristics of your hair?!

People need to pay attention to what their hair likes and what it doesn’t. I have Coily hair that tangles a lot, and washing my hair in twists causes more tangles. It’s better when I wash in small sections. I do a hot oil treatment every wash day because that helps with detangling my hair. The oil creates a slip and ‘melts the knots away’. Heat (from steam caps or shower cap covered with a headwrap and letting your body heat do the work also helps. My hair loves it. This has reduced the time spent on washing my hair Tip: make the time to get to know your hair

I love hot oil treatments 😮 I couldn’t agree more!

the worst part is even if you alter your texture it won’t give you another woman’s routine or hair profile. it’s the same hair just limp at the ends

@@cctv318 this! But they have some how convinced themselves that is better than being natural forgetting that they still need to take care of the hair that they have now

This was such a good video! Technique is KEY! We just have to go through trial and error to see what works best for our hair. What works for one person may or may not work for someone else. I really enjoyed your take. Thanks for sharing! 💕💜

I grew my hair with plaits, water, conditioner and vitamins because I have anemia and this can cause fragile and brittle hair. A lof of black women don't eat properly or suffer from a deficit of vitamins. Go get your blood tested before blaming the texture or your genetics.

@@LoXena nutrition is definitely something that isnt talked about a lot. It is overlooked.

We have abundant cases of vitamin d deficiency due to our skin needing more sunlight (Africa is at the equator) and anemia issues and bw still want to claim its “genetics” all the time
