Deacon Blues by Steely Dan is my favorite tune of all time! I started to listen to Steely Dan as a freshman at UNC Chapel Hill in 1973. The Fender Rhodes sound is my favorite of all musical instruments....you truly make your Rhodes sing!

Such great chords

Things that stuck out: 1. Steely Dan/Donald Fagen is prominent. 2. How the Rhodes lends itself to jazz chords and voicings. 3. The Ambrosia intro connected with me emotionally, stronger than the others. Great list...great playing.

What an iconic instrument. We could easily come up with 20 more universally recognized intros and you could brilliantly reproduce them on that beautiful sounding Rhodes. Well done, as always.

Some mentioned the theme from Taxi. That is a classic Rhodes song. I've never played Michael McDonald/Steely Dan so I'm not familiar with his chord use/progression. But whatever he used, you can randomly play those chords and know it's him. Such a distinctive mood.

As a keyboardist of over 35 years who’s first purchase (at age 16 with my own money) was a Fender Rhodes Seventy-Three Suitcase, it’s hard to choose as both lists you compiled are awesome! Thank you for playing ALL of those Rhodes intros beautifully! Brought back some great times for me in my younger years as a musician playing gigs with a band. I really think they're both excellent lists. I kept waiting to see where my personal favorite would end up (One hundred ways), and when it was there at #6, it made me excited to see what would end up in the top 5... I had actually forgotten that Chick Corea's originally recording of the intro was on a Rhodes.. I hear it played live on trumpet often.. but yes, hard to beat that melody. Also, I love that Riders on the Storm was most requested... it's a very ubiquitous rhodes intro.. it reminds me of my days as a lounge pianist, where people would request "The Rose" constantly... even though it definitely isn't the best. haha. Love when you do list-vids like this man, thanks for putting this together.

I wasn’t expecting this to be on here, but my favorite Rhodes song is “Katamari on the Rhodes.” I’m sure lots of people are familiar with the legendary soundtrack of Katamari Damacy, but this song is actually from the PSP spinoff: Me & My Katamari.
