Govees immersion product is the killer deal as you are not bound to any HDMI cables or standards...it will react to anything on your TV and most of the time with accurate colors after a little calibration. I'm still blown away by how it enhances your viewing experience and probably won't be able to watch a movie or play a game without them anymore 😬

@@nissan300zxtt9 the Philips lights obviously have much better color accuracy but if you use a lot of HDMI devices or want to use the apps on your TV like KZbin or Netflix you probably won't be able to use the kit with em. The good thing about Govee is that the lights aren't bound to any devices.

I have an A90J Sony, and its imposable to install the lights to the back because of that bump out. The strips don't bend at all. On my A80J it works perfcetly.

There is Govee lights you can get on Amazon for I think $70 that gives just as good effect. It uses a camera but is just as good once the calibration is perfect. Good review nonetheless. :)

I have the Govee, it works great. And everything you need comes in the box. I do wonder if this gets brighter, even though the Govee is bright enough. I am just trying to understand why there is a $450 price difference. This light strips look just sectional and not even individually led colored. And non of this is new tech to the point of driving up the cost.

I'd like to know options for filling in the bottom. I have one of these pre-ordered for my 75". I have a couple playbars sitting around I might be able to use, but don't really have the space between TV and wall for them ideally. Will the bottom of the TV be configurable in the entertainment zone though? I could pick up a cheaper lightstrip for bottom of TV, but may need at least 2 for the effect.

Yeah either 2 play bars or Lightstrip will work fine. You can definitely do that. A couple people over on the Hue subreddit have done this and it looks great

Is your OLED TV from LG? If so, were you able to program your LG TV remote to control the hue sync box? I have a 65inch LG CX and it’s remote won’t pair with the sync box which is one of the features available on the sync app. It’s really very frustrating because I wanted to be able to switch HDMI inputs on the sync box using the LG remote easily instead of constantly having to use the sync app or Google voice assistant 🤷🏽♂️

I don't think I would recommend that because the lights will not accurately mirror the color of the screen. i.e the color at the bottom left of your TV will then be shown in the bottom middle, and it may look strange. Up to you though

Some people have successfully mounted the 55” version to their 50” TVs so you might get away with it, especially if the bezels are a little bigger

Hey, any view on the impact if the TV isn't against the wall and instead in the corner of a room at an angle. Its a large long room and this is the only logical place for the TV and directed to the sofa's. Behind the TV its part wall with windows towards each corner of the TV. Due to the expense, its a difficult purchase to make without being a guinea pig :-)

I think as long as the windows have shades or blinds you should be ok. Depending on how far it is from the wall, you may need all the lights out for a good effect else it will be washed out

they recommend leaving some space so that the light starts a bit behind the TV, to get the full effect. The overall length of the strip is 85", so if you want, you can measure the perimeter of your TV and see how much would hang off the bottom sides.

I have a Vizio 55” OLED. I believe the shape and profile is the same as the LG oled so you should be able to use it with no problems. It’s a “things to do” checklist for upcoming posts and stuff.

i have a lg c9, its no problem. it looks kinda strange but the bending has no negative effect on the lights. this lightstrip is a absolute esset for you cx btw, i recommend it:) p.s something i found out myself. buy a syncbox, the hue sync app in combination with a computer or android tv box cannot cover 7 zones. it works but only in one color , because you can't adjust the zones in the lightstrip inside the hue app. so yes a hue hdmi play is the best experience.

Have my one preordered for my LG C9. Glad I saw this video to see how you mounted it to your OLED with it being so slim at the top and bulkier the bottom half. If you use music mode in the app, does it only show one colour or 7 different colours at a time for each zone on the strip?

So it will work the with the PS5 but not at 4K 120Hz, only 4K 60Hz. Keep in mind the Sync box came out last year, before anything supported 4K 120Hz and before the consoles were announced either. I’m sure they’re working on a newer version but nothing set in stone yet

It also does not work with HDR but there is a work around if you have an Audio receiver. Unfortunately it seems that Phillips goal was primarily about maxing their Margin on price. Verse Actually making a product that is at least worth 1/4th the price they are charging. OK Maybe its more like an 1/8th the price.

Looks great, just can’t justify $400+ to put lights behind my TV. If it was just the light at $200 it would be fine. But since you have to have HDMI which they charge an outrageous $200 for, it just doesn’t make sense. Bought a $30 led strip that does a great job and saves the $370 for something else

the only problem here is not just the price (kinda would be okay with it) but the fact you need to get two separate and experience devices to set up this kit, it's just stupid in my opinion, pretty much you spend around 500euros in total. It's cheaper to buy a Philips OLED tv that comes with Ambilight and all apps at least work natively. I hope Philips will come with something new in the future that solves this problem. Or probably not. maybe It is all about bussiness.

All your device inputs will go to the Sync Box. The sync box output will go into 1 TV input. Your sound bar will be connected to the TV HDMI that has Arc. That should be all you need to get this to work

Also it’s unlikely that the Hue Stream app will see the gradient strip as 7 zones but rather just 1 lights, so you won’t get the full benefit unless they can update to utilize that
