Blast always needs a face up monster on your field in order to be activated, so it's not technically stand alone, but ofc it's more useful than grenade. One cool thing about grenade is that you can equip it to a random monster to save yourself from a heavy storm or let the opponent do the trade

Y'know, back in the day you would see more Gearfried based Warrior decks before Toolbox became the standard. I did like how you showed an established deck and changes cards out to fit the new strategy.

I was testing blast with chain in skill drain beatdown as it punishes my opponent for trying to blind mst my floodgates and it can let you play around heavystorm. This without playing gearfried at all

Built this deck, went undefeated at locals with it. Chain was amazing removal. Also made my kycoo 2300 beatstick.

Very nice thoughts, hope to see some gameplays. Could you do this "timeline" but zombies? I'm trying skill drain/coldwave madness with hyper aggro build between earth zombies and warriors (zombyra/blade knight/soldier). Perhaps i'm only a madman. I always felt Geafried-Chain was solid but Grenade was pretty atrocious and people got caught trying to maximize their Gearfrieds. I had been a fan of this minimalist concept myself but I generally just dislike Warriors so never bothered with it. I'd probably try to find a way to include Upstarts here though, by cutting at least one monster. Maybe even just the one Upstart...? Idk, something to fiddle around with

I played against with turbo and warriors. Did slightly better vs warriors but wasn’t an issue, to many good thing had to happen for my opponent. Against chaos they just seemed to drop cards that did well for some chains that didn’t go off. Can’t imagine this going off but I hope I’m wrong

I'm just now discovering this video but I honestly can't see any reason not to play Iron Blacksmith Kotetsu in this deck. He's a warrior so he's tutorable by Rota, and as long as he doesn't get noblemanned, he can search Snatch Steal, Premature Burial, and Smoke grenade. Criminally underrated card and I'm sure there's a reason more people aren't playing it but they definitely should be. The card is nuts.

Iron Blacksmith isn't a warrior, and we don't have Smoke Grenade in the maindeck. You could side Iron Blacksmith though. We actually made a video about how Blacksmith is underrated awhile back. See: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rmXLpZKQaLWfjtk

Very interesting idea, being able to chain Blast with Chain to removal is a heck of a tactic. It is a problem if there's no face-up monster on the field, but all things considered that situation may not arise too often.
