Your WORD is a Lamp to My Feet and a Light to My Path
When the psalmist wrote Psalms 119, which says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path”. Prophetically, they were speaking about Jesus Christ. His name is the Word. He is the one that is our only hope of salvation. He guides our path into everlasting life. He made the way by his own blood. He shed his blood for us on Calvary. He died on the cross and he resurrected. Christians mistakenly call the Bible the light to their path. They think that the Bible will lead them into everlasting life. And they think that they're going to find the hope of salvation in the Bible. But what Jesus said to the Pharisees was, “You search the scriptures for in them you think that you have life, yet you refuse to come to me.” The same thing is happening today. People read Psalms 119. And instead of saying, Instead of it pointing them to Jesus, they think it points to the Bible. And they say, “Get into the Bible. Get to know the Bible more. It will guide your path. It's a light to your feet.” That is not true. Many people read the Bible and they are in darkness. They don't have eyes to see or ears to hear. If you want your ears and your eyes to be open, you need to accept Jesus Christ into your life. Let him purge you and purify you and change you from the inside. Out. Accept as your Lord and Savior and obey him until the very end of your life. If you're not sure what Jesus said, read the Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Pay very specific attention to what Jesus said. You will have life if you live according to the words of Jesus. But you are dead already if you're living in your sins and rejecting him. Jesus Christ is the word of God, Not the Bible. And he himself is your only hope of everlasting life.
