Prices are not going down it’s just that time of year where they’re trying to get rid of inventory and summer marketing discounts. The difference were seeing is because prices are now so high that the discounts are fairly large but it doesn’t mean prices are coming down and in fact they’ll never come down. That’s why inflation is so dangerous. Think about when you vote.

@@dorjiphalamhow so? Toyota nissan ford ect make the vehicle then set the msrp. 5yrs ago MSRP's were down what, 30-50% than what they are now. Everybody took advantage of Covid and chip shortage and supply issues to jack up prices FROM the assembly line and then, yes, dealers would try and add 10K, 20K, 30K on top of MSRP as a "market adjustment" but with more cars n trucks available new those markups have largely disappeared but i havent seen MSRP prices go down at all just trying to sell the cars with a 1% incentive to offset the crazy high prices. I alway think of the 'if one is right the other must be wrong' scenario...if pre-pandemic cars were underpriced and now they are priced more in line with what actual building costs dictate or pre-pandemic pricing was spot on then during/after Covid pricing was jacked up due to all the free money...bother scenarios cant be true at the same time and the "1 is right other wrong" being too black n white answer but i dont still believe dealers are the only ones at fault. Try dumping some of that angst on the manufacturer doorstep

Vehicles should be priced starting at $20,000 dollars and top out at $40,000 dollars for more options. Vehicles are rarely long term ownership items because they wear out, if you get 10 years out of a vehicle you have done good, that is a lot of wear and tear on the vehicle. You don't need all these bells and whistles they put in vehicles today, they add cost and when they break they cost a small fortune to repair. It is time to bring sanity back to vehicles.

Thanks guys. OR....instead of that newer "1 to 3 year old used car", consider shopping models all the way back to 2018. Minimum criteria: Solid and clean CarFax (w/no gaps or fishy entries), One owner, No accidents, "under 45,000 miles" (or similar). Using the above criteria on a nationwide search I found a significant number of Toyota Camrys (as an example) in the $17-$18k range. To me, that's a good value when thinking of the vehicle 10 years down the road. *PS: I did NOT see any RENTAL cars among the listings I scanned.

Good advice but also get a pre purchase inspection. Carfax isn’t always accurate as I learned firsthand.

I might buy a 2024 Lexus ES 300h. My local dealers have them ranging anywhere from 2-8months sitting on the lot. Since it is a hybrid…does that bring any concerns since that hybrid battery has been sitting there for so long on the lot?

I bought a 2023 Toyota Tacoma SR access cab last year out the door tax, tag, title, dealer fees for just over $14,000 dollars and I paid it off in six months. This truck will likely be the last truck I will ever buy at my age, it has the 2.7 liter four cylinder that runs just fine and is legendary for its reliability.

I'm looking at Honda CR Vs. The used ones 1-3 years old wiht low miles have an MSRP of around $25 to $28K. The newer ones start in the low to mid 40s, especially if someone wants a hybrid. Even with the fight over taxes and fees, that's a span of $15K for a car that can go over 200K miles. Unless you have other thoughts on that?

I have a question on your channel/services. I did start to subscribe but unless I understood the email I understood was going to be charged to subscribe for your youtube posts etc. While I understand a service and fee thing like to by a car. I did not see why I got something so soon talking of money, I had not done anything...so cancelled. The other question on a car purchase; If I asked to see about what kind of a deal on car A and the better deal was far enough away I decided to not proceed I know you put the work in etc. are you paid upfront on that process? and is it with the purchase completed or just a flat fee?

I completely agree with this. I just bought a brand new EV car on Monday and I got an insane deal pitting a couple dealerships against each other. The dealer that won my business was way below MSRP, gave me full incentives, only charged me the car price and TTL, and even threw in their protection package for free which included window tint, clear bra, wheel locks, nitro inflated tires, and some interior protection thing. Now seems to be the time to start buying! I'm very happy with my purchase. Also thanks to this channel for arming me with knowledge to get a deal I'm super happy with.

I’m a bit confused by the comparison of buying used vs new if only a few years old. New Toyota Highlanders are $47K in our area. Used are closer to $30K for a few years old. That’s a significant difference in price and payment isn’t it? Or am I completely missing something?

Used raptor with 100,000km (60k miles) is $65-70k CAD. Raptors with double that mileage they want $45k CAD. What kind of madness is this? $45k with 70,000km is what i think is fair, expensive, but still fair in the grand scheme of things. I'd rather drive a rust bucket than a low trim new truck, so i guess I'm stuck for a while.

Its ridiculous still the cost of a new vehicle I’ve only seen as far as SUV the Chevy TRAX at 21 grand, no,other suv unless heavily used are close to this price, a new Toyota Carolla is 23 grand ( base version ) I’m finding no Nissan Versas at that 16 grand asking price I found one with roll up windows 19 grand ( no power features ) and they are smaller than Toyotas. I can’t foresee any cost reductions anytime soon

I refuse to pay these ridiculous MSRPs. Nope. I will wait until the auto manufacturers come back to reality. I can easily wait it out. Let those manufacturers starve ! If the cost was realistic, I still have a problem with the truck market. The manufacturers, especially TOYOTA, since it's my favorite, doesn't build a truck that I want! What the HELL?! I want a working man's truck, and TOYOTA doesn't build it! I want a standard-cab, with a 6-foot bed, 4 cylinder engine, manual transmission, with air-conditioning being the only option. I don't even need a radio! BUILD THIS TRUCK TOYOTA at a reasonable price, $25,000, and I will buy it! But not until then, maybe even a hybrid, and I will buy it. Not until then though.
