The Hershey-Chase experiment provided proof that DNA is the material inherited from one generation to the next. Check out the video to watch the elegant, yet simple experiment Dr. Hershey and Dr. Chase used back in 1952 to lay the foundation for modern day genetics.

My daughter has been crying and struggling with this concept for hours. She’s watched other videos, and still couldn’t get it. She watched this video once and said, oh that makes so much more sense! And the white board kept her ADHD brain focused the whole time. Thank you so so much.

I love how every simple knowledge that we now view as common sense was debated, experimented, and finally concluded as a fact by scientists from the past!
@skullasylum33
@skullasylum33 3 жыл бұрын
being viewed as common sense doesn't make something FACT. the narrator just explained to you how this has never been proven..it is a MODEL not reality. an attempt period. if proposed in a convincing manner it could become accepted as fact that your name is Bara does that mean your name would have changed Sara? not fact. never proven. MODEL ONLY PERIOD.

Wow, I've been reading through Avery-MacLeod-McCarty and the Hershey-Chase experiment for hours, Wikipedia didn't help 100% either. You made it perfectly clear in terms of background, methodology, experiment distinctions, and their significance. Thank you soooo much!!! Love it!!!

This was very helpful thank you! I was staring at this diagram in my biology class and I was so confused. It was only until I watched this did I understand that the sulfur protein bacteriophage's structure was made of the protein. After that it all made a lot of sense! So thanks

Video needs a correction: Remember, Viruses (like a bacteriophage) is NOT considered a living "organism". Viruses do not meet all the criteria for being considered living. (They don't have ALL the characteristics of life.) Otherwise, good video.
