Congrats on a fantastic purchase. This is one of my favorite GS's. You can't beat the dial color, blue'd GMT hand, and incredible hour markers and hands. Stunning combo.

The watch, the music, your narration of why you love it, sold me, purchased! Everyone told me get a Rolex, but I'm in love with the passion the Japanese put into these watches. I'm not buying a badge I'm buying what I love and this watch is one of them.

This is my one and only GS. I agree with you... this is just breathtaking! Also, like you, I immediately changed straps and kept the croc stap with deployant buckle in the box. I'm a Rolex guy and I also own an Omega that is very dear to me. But this SBGM221 is becoming my favorite piece. Great work btw. Keep it coming!

I use it for fine dressing with the croc strap
@karlomcastro5 жыл бұрын
@@camelia411... You are absolutely correct. The croc strap with the deployant is more appropriate for dressing up. I rarely wear a suit though so a tan (or any shade of brown) and sometimes a grey calf skin strap work better for me. Cheers!

@@karlomcastro hi. what can you tell about the accuracy of this watch?
@karlomcastro4 жыл бұрын
@@romanrudenko8760... Hello! I was actually pleasantly surprised. I was expecting "just" GS advertised accuracy of -3/+5 sec/day. I've owned by SBGM221 for just about 3 months now so the sample size is quite small but it's going less than +2sec a day. Cheers!

SBGM021 was my first GS, it’s one of the only watches I always keep running, because I know I’ll be wearing it at least once a week (others are Speedy and PADI Turtle). It really suits just about any occasion, and I will never get tired of it.

Grand Seiko is really climbing up the high horology ladder. Popularity is growing rapidly
@vincentferreira1135 Жыл бұрын
They have been on that ladder for a long time now. They’re older than Rolex, use 100% in house movements, have been the entire time, they are better finished and, I think, better quality than Rolex. They were the reason for the Quartz crisis. They dominated the watch world for a long time. I think they’re securely on that ladder. They just need to market better. That’s the only reason 99% of people have heard of Rolex and most people wouldn’t know Grand Seiko from any other brand.

Brilliant review. I have seen it so many times. The perspective , the visuals etc are all quite wonderful. I have ordered this piece for viewing and possible purchase . Quite excited . As you have mentioned in the review a bit philosophically that watch collecting is as much a journey inward as anything else . Feels so true for me , never thought I would go beyond the usual or the sports models that called me to watches at first place . Perhaps it also a bit of maturing with age - don’t know , dress watches is my new fascination . Thank you for this brilliant review and associated presentation

I love the strap you chose too so if anyone does have a direct link to the Honco strap site where I can buy one please respond. I am also going to have various other straps too so rather than choose which watch to wear each week/month it will be which strap as that butter dial does allow for many colours to work. Blue Aligator, Green, Sand, brown and many others. The reason I now have to buy other straps is because the YourTerrific video has now used up my entire watch budget LOL. Thank you : )
