Having recently tried a 29 inch myself…I honestly feel satisfied enough with 26 inch. Most people I know like “bigger” bikes, but from my experience I don’t like how hard it is to reach the ground with my feet from the seat as well as the 29 inch I rode has the handlebars a bit too far from the seat that it’s almost too long for my arms..

@@ksuuv1I love a 26er and I’m 6ft, frame size is more important for that than wheel size. Have ridden them all, 26er has a unique feel especially with some wide tires that is very fun, clear issues with speed and covering distance but going downhill and even jumping is just a lot of fun and agile

Very well explained in the vid. I have both 26T and 29T variants. My height is 183 cm, and I have bikes with a frame size of 20". And believe me I don't feel much of a difference if I "just" sit on both of them. I think it's the frame size rather than the tyres that matters when choosing a cycle according to one's height. Now having said that, one must always choose a bicycle according to one's uses. For instance, if a person with a height of let's say above 170 cm, and if the purpose is only for daily commute on roads along with some occasional light off roading I'd rather suggest a 29T. However, if one wants to do heavy off roading, a lot of steep climbs, downhill rides and the commute involves sharp turns then here I'd find a bigger tyre like 29T to be quite intimidating. I'd rather suggest a smaller one that can be easier to control, like a 27.5T or a 26T. Again these are my personal preferences and I believe that it's the biker and not bike that make impossible stuffs possible.

When I first bought a mtb, 26" wheels was all there was. I'm 1.8m.. I was used to a larger road bike. I was told a 21" mtb frame was too small but I didn't like the look of the substantially geekier next size up, so I bought the 21.. because it's not just about comfort, it's about looking cool. lol 😁

I have a 26T hardtail mtb and was wondering if I should keep or change, im 178cm and I ride my bike for long distances going to local cities (max I can go is 30km) but once I'm there I'd ride around the city, that's the best part with my current bike, going straight the main road for like 18km is very annoying with my current bike, I've never tried a 29T but here where I'm living many people do, and they do ride inside the city Also I'd love a road bike I think it is the best option for me but I'm aware if I regret selling my mtb because the roads are nasty

Getting tired of elitists saying "save more money and get a 29er" like I don't have enough for a mid range full sus 29er already lol. 26x 27.5 Mini Mullets have been working very well for me, fun in the tight and chunky stuff. I am quite short and this has been the most playful set up in the gnar gnar. Cleaned out all of my 29er stuff from the quiver a while ago as it just felt gangly , dead and boring in anything but a straight line in the flats. Something that is very important and completely overlooked, is the size of the rider. If you're 5'6" and you're riding a 29er, that is way too much wheel to be trying to throw around. Same goes for if you're 6'6, you won't be having a good time on some tiny little 26ers.

I had a little trouble getting this delivered kzbin.infoUgkxn_jUDSlprMIeubd9rHdEAnv59nKfjcKv and eventually had to pick it up from local UPS location, but customer service was really nice and helped me get it before the estimated delivery date. They even gave me a partial refund for my trouble. Thanks Paige! The actual bicycle is just as advertised, and had no damage or scratches. This is an excellent commuter bike for most people. I did a few modifications to make it even better for me personally. I added fenders from my old bicycle. They weren't for disc brakes, but after adding longer bolts and about an inch of spacers the supports no longer interfered with the brakes. I like to pedal HARD and go FAST, so I switched the chain rings to Vuelta Corsa Pro Crankset, Black, 175mm 53/39T Square Taper. This has longer crank arms too, so its kind of 2 upgrades in 1. The front derailleur had to be readjusted so it would stay on only the 2 chain rings until I get a different shifter. I also switched the cassette to one with 11T high gear and a larger low gear. With larger gears on the front and back I also had to get a longer chain. I probably couldn't race this bike unless i got a different cassette with gears closer in size relative to each other, but I can still go plenty fast on flats and downhill while still being able to climb steep hills. For going to and from work and the grocery store this is a great bike. It even looks good. I also added a rear rack and panniers for grocery trips. Now it has great storage capacity especially paired with a backpack. Very happy with my purchase.

If the bike feels too small for you it's most likely the frame size that's the issue not the wheel size. As for switching wheel sizes, going to a larger wheel from a smaller generally causes fitment issues since the frame wasn't designed for a larger wheel.

5'3", I would strongly recommend taking a 26" bike and modding the front end with a 27.5 front end, new fork and wheel. 27.5 + is great. I have several Mini-Mullets built up like this and it's worked quite well for me. Been playing with mullets for decades and for shorter riders in the rough stuff, it really shines. Another thing to consider is exactly how good is the front suspension on a 26er. If you have a brilliant (very expensive) 26" fork, it "rolls over things better than a heavy 29" wheel on a shit fork, Capiche? There are some very very good 26" lightly used bikes out there that rock and can be got for well under 1K with high end components and wheels. You could mullet it out later if you really wish. Mini Mullet for you... you deserve it. Cheers

The frame has to fit the rider size, wheelsiz ehas to fit with the size of the bike, these days this now is less of an issue. More sizes and larger reach, better geometry, sizing, and wheelsizes that fit the sizes of bike without compromising handling. I'm 181cm average arms, legs, torso, I have a large Geometron G1, big wheelbase 62deg head angle,515mm reach, have a high riser bar. Big wheels long wheelbase. There are some misconceptions about a big bike like this. No it does not make turns harder. No the slack head angle does not make it harder to claim, it actually does the opposite due to more weight on the front longer wheelbase making the bike more planted. No larger wheels don't make the bike harder to turn, that came from bad geo, sizing bikes where they had big wheels in tiny frames, and horrible geo. So when people rode better riding bikes they tried worse geo 29ers, and possibly bad tyres too.

I prefer a size 29 or 26. I want to use a bike for normal roads, and sometimes I use it on roads that have dirt and stones. My height is 183. What is best for me?
@YourFavoriteCyclist
@YourFavoriteCyclist 2 жыл бұрын
A 29er would be nice for road/gravel riding. They roll faster than a 26 and roll over road imperfections nicer. Not to mention it would fit your height pretty good.

I'm also 6ft (183cm) and I ride 26 with a 90s chromoly frame, I don't ride for long distances and I don't do trail, just commute. to me it works pretty well Your height got more to do with the saddle and handlebar height adjustment than the frame or wheel diameter
@dangerous8333
@dangerous8333 3 жыл бұрын
@@MybeautifulandamazingPrincess Well of course that would work for short commuting. Anything would work for that. I disagree that height doesn't play into frame size. It literally goes hand in hand.

With being 5'9" you're kind of in the sweet spot where you're able to fit pretty well on any of the 3 wheel sizes. It really just comes down to your riding style and how you want to ride, on which one would be the best fit to that.

29 for city use because of comfort and stability on the roads that’s assuming that you aren’t going to be doing jumps and riding anything other than city, if you are go for a 27.5 as it’s the most common and the medium
