The reason "why" we Austrians use for "stehen", "liegen", "sitzen" the auxiliary verb "sein" - not only in common speech but it is also in our Standard German grammar absolutely correct which is not the case in Germany - is easy explained. It´s about deep semantics. We Austrians simply do not consider "stehen", "liegen", "sitzen" as an - "action" but Germans do. For us those are "conditions of being" ..because those 3 conditions are part of life in every situation of Life because what ever you actually do or not do you - simultaneously - always are either sitting, standing or lying..even "things/objects" are just standing, sitting, lying around in order to fulfill any - other - certain purpose ..so standing, lying, sitting are - for us Austrians - cleary just conditions and no actions. Meaning a human being is able to do absolutely nothing while - simultaneously -"stehen", "sitzen", "liegen"...Meaning when you do "nothing" than there is "actually no actual action involved" that is what "doing nothing" actually essentially means which simply contradicts the use of "haben" to refer to an action for "sitzen" "liegen" "stehen" and therefore we use "sein" I know German´s intellectual approach is different by saying "I willingly do sit, stand, lie" so therefore because it is done "willingly" it is an action..but that is not fully thought through till the end from our viewpoint.. In our intellectual approach it isn´t, because for us it is just "willingly choosing a condition" and therefore just the "choice made up in your mind" is the actual action in the German´s approach from our viewpoint. Just soley "the change from one condition to another" is an action according to your choice of condition which is the slight moment where you actually "standing up" or "lying down" or "sitting down" which can be seen as actual action because that is an actual movement and for those we use "haben" as well..As I said at the beginning it is deep semantics. (Now Irony with a huge pinch of truth...No Offence) The use of "haben" for this 3 verbs decribing a condition just gives the untrue semblance that Germans from Germany are never lazy meaning even when they do absolutely nothing they are pretending by using "haben" for those 3 conditions "stehen", "liegen", "sitzen" to be actually very busy while doing absolutely nothing....but that is then actually just "Schein statt sein/more illusion than reality" ..respectively that is simply a huge "self-deception". Austrians are simply straight honest to themselves and to everybody else admitting that we are able to take a break from everyday´s life, being just "laid back" able to just sitting, standing, lying around "hanging loose" without having any "guilty conscience" about it, which would force us to use "haben" instead of "sein" just in order to persuade ourselves and our enviroment in that actual moment of lazyness that we would not be lazy at anytime although humans are lazy sometimes and Germans are no exception... But that is obviously a thing what Germans are seemingly not able to admit and therefore they use "haben". Meaning the use of "haben" for - sitzen, stehen, liegen - is on a subconcious level just admitting to feel guilt for being sometimes lazy but not able to handle that feeling of guilt, and therefore they are pretending a condition would be an action . (Irony off) And please that really was not meant offensive..That signed ironic part was meant as a joke about our different mindsets about sitzen, liegen, stehen...and although it was just a joke there are some reasonable points about our different mentality even interfering in our shared language.

@@yourgermanteacher Now my opinion would be based in four lessons. I will give my feed back when I finish to watch ALL your videos. The only recommendation I can make so far is to suggest you try to cheap advertising in facebook or youtube to increase your viewers. Hallo Luzi! Mach weiter so, Luzi!

There are so much similarities between German and French! In this case also! French also uses the auxiliary verb- etre (to be)- in the case of 16 movement and condition changing verbs like aller (to go), arriver (to arrive), mourir (to die), partir (to leave) etc. Danke schon Luzi for the explanation!

Hi sir! I really enjoy your videos, and your explanations have helped me so much! I do have one question from the video: at minute 12:51, you mentioned "Er hat einen Porsche gefahren," which is in the direct obj + akkusativ case. But why is it "einen Porsche" instead of "ein Porsche"? I thought the article for cars is "das Auto," so in the akkusativ case, wouldn't it be "ein Auto"? I'm just starting to learn German, and this has been on my mind-I can't sleep because I'm thinking about it haha! Thanks so much for your videos, they're super helpful, and I believe you are one of the best Deutschlehrer! Danke schön!

Dear Teacher. I would like to ask some question to you I am confused. Because you gave the examples .One of them is '' ich habe ein photo gemacht'' .The sentence belongs to present perfect tense of English. The second example of yours is ''Er hat eninen porche gefahren '' belongs to past simpe tense of English So as to use the correct tense what to do ? Another one is that if ı want to ay past continues of english was/were ing .How tense will be used some sentences belongs to both the them If you clarify ı will be glad Thank you so much

Ist gezogen… is passive voice Hat gezogen… is perfect tense
