@@IrrelevantGeOff I'm not really sure about the Ancient Egyptians doing those things with Caracals or bigger cats as I don't think they would've been able to so easily capture or tame them, or at least get them into a non-violent state. But it would make a lot of sense, since they worshipped all cats like they were walking gods. They were given their own rooms and houses and even temples to live in, they were always fed and killing or hurting one even by accident was considered a heinous crime.

Black Bears can. Grizzly Bears have straighter claws and they are way heavier. They are way worse at climbing. Black Bears can climb super fast though for sure. Polar Bears don't climb either. But if you see a polar bear there are probably no trees near by.

One time when i was camping in BC a wolf cub came up to me and was trying to bite at my heels then run away, not aggressively just like he was playing, he got me a few more feet away and when my eyes adjusted from the camp fire i saw atleast six pairs of eyes waiting in the bushes, i scarred them off with a couple shots of my rifle but i didn't sleep after that.
