Rotation? What does that matter? If it is not eaten there is n point in rotation!
@erwin643
@erwin643 4 жыл бұрын
@@donraptor6156 What? do you even understand the concept? In other words, that stuff should have been eaten years ago, before his shitty, un-ventilated environment got to his lids and metal cans. Unless you buy food specifically with a 30-year shelf life, it needs to be rotated, otherwise there's no point in storing it in the first place. Those jars of pickles (or whatever it was on that pallet. Haven't seen the video in a while) in particular. I guess you don't understand preparedness, or survivalism, right?

@@michaelw.urbansr.8617It is about feeling of unity, Chinese emperors back in time didn't like philosophical schools other than Legalism, they didn't confront strongest ones like Taoism, Confucianism and such directly before being strong enough though. Taoism focuses more on self development, Confucianism more on family bonds and immediate people around you. And these systems are prone to corruption. Perceiving entire country as a single unit. Familial bonds often cause corruption, and even if it doesn't makes decision making harder. That moisture thing is an issue though I don't understand why people rely so much on metals(buses containers etc) for shelter structures. Thick stone arched walls covered outside with thick plastic sheets and good ventilation to regulate moisture stemming from residents would be enough. In his shelter if a large group starts living humidity would be unbearable in a short time. In such a bad ventilated shelter cooking soup is silly. Any kind of boiling is. A long term shelter needs constant renewable energy perhaps tapping an underwater went for little energy to run lights enough to power certain plants which doesn't require light as strong as sun and still can photosynthesize just fine, which also absorbs humidity from air(peace lily, English ivy, spider plant, Areca certain mosses etc). You can turn of their lights when you get high from oxygen. Plants have uses beyond being food. If he wants to shelter a whole society for an extended period, his shelter simply is useless, though it would be useful as a hideout and bomb shelter in a non nuclear war.
@erwin643
@erwin643 6 жыл бұрын
Kudos to the guy for building something like this. However, he put no planning into dealing with moisture: No vapor barrier, etc. That should have been priority over any hardening, since he doesn't live anywhere near nuclear target.

The first priority should be moisture management. Anything that CAN rust is rusting away in that place because there was no decent vapor barrier put in place when construction began, nor is there any decent ventilation. Hell, you could probably provide water for the place by just running dehumidifiers! Notice the overflowing barrels placed underneath leaks. The second should be larder rotation. There shouldn't be anything from the 1980's down there. Save that for when some of us are living the dream for real years from now, when we're eating 20-30 year-old food.

@seigeengine

In reality there's just only so much room and resources, and prioritizing being able to protect as many kids as possible means less than ideal living conditions, and a lot of those parents aren't going to be getting in at all. Consider whether you'd prefer to protect two adults and two kids, or six kids.

I can't even imagine leaving my kids alone in that dark dungeon that looks like it is a torture chamber. kids would be screaming and howling alright while parents are in some other part of the hell hole pretending theyhave no problem with this situation. I think at that point it would be pick your poison and I don't think that bunker would be the poison I would pick!

Propane in a bunker is both illegal and foolish. It's an explosion waiting to happen. He should sell the pizza oven and all propane related items and replace them. Next he needs to install 90 degree turns at each of the entrances to keep the gamma radiation out. It takes 12 inches of steel to replace a simple turn in the entrance tunnel.
