To Denz: I was about your age when my family visited New York (I’m from Georgia). The younger of my two older sisters and I went up the stairs to the top of the Statue of Liberty. It was even more bare and open then (1986). I was TERRIFIED and had to hold back from crying but the spiral staircase, once you’re on it, no way to go back down. So….knowing I HAD to commit and was stuck til the end was awful for me. I totally get it, lil bro. I’m so proud of you that you did! SO proud! You and I both got to be in the crown of Lady Liberty, despite our fears! Cheers to ya, man! 🙂

So great that you were able to visit it relatively easy.

I was in New York City when I was 14 years old. I would LOVE to go back. It will be 50 years ago this summer. I have looked at google maps and seen SO MANY things that I would love to see in this town. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.

I grew up in NJ and spent much of my youth going to NYC for punk and hardcore shows all over the city and of course plenty of random journeys through Manhattan over decades of time. It's easy for the City to become less magical and become just another place you're so used to that it's not a big deal anymore. I say this because watching videos like this where we get to see people like yourselves experience it for the first time and get to feel that "wow" factor and the whirlwind of being in that environment is so good for the soul. It helps someone like myself appreciate a lot of what I may have become jaded to and it puts a smile on my face. Glad to see you all have so much fun in the Big Apple!

I've been waiting for this video, I live in NYC. FAO Schwartz use to be next to where the Apple store is now. That's where it was when BIG was filmed and it was bigger at that location. Glad you had so much fun. As a New Yorker we are so use to all the lights and sounds that we know how to tune it all out. To a tourist I can see how overwhelming it all is.

At 4:06, what a wonderful family portrait! I grew up half an hour away from there and took school trips there as a kid, but I don't recall if I've ever been inside the crown. I also managed to see New Year's Eve in Times Square when I was about 11, so I'm glad I checked off that bucket list item early! Thanks for another great video from your time here in the States.

So fun fact, cold brew and iced coffee are actually two different beverages. Iced coffee is often just standard brewed coffee poured over ice. Cold Brew is typically made by lining a pan with a towel, then coffee grounds, then pouring water into the pan and letting it steep in the fridge overnight. It completely changes the taste of the coffee when it's brewed hot or cold. :)

But Christmas also brings those insane crowds. So it's actually better that they went when they did. If they went at Christmas time, I don't even know if Nadine would be able to see people skating, because it's hard to even get close. Everyone is there for the tree, the skating , and Saint Patrick's.

New York, New York, a city so nice, they named it twice. The city that never sleeps. The greatest city in the world. The center of capitalism. The big apple. I remember the first time I rode the NYC subway. I was kind of stoked but it looked like you guys may have been a bit nervous. Denzel is afraid of heights? Well good on him for making the trek up the Statue of Liberty. That is a brave little dude.
