My four year old woke up not feeling well and wanted to watch 'the new Zealand family'. I said to him 'oh you like the kids right?' (because he's watched them eating wal mart snacks like three times already) and he said 'No, I love all of them." So please feel loved, as you are.

The red beans and rice are actually the only thing I think is worth going to Popeye's for. Their other food isn't *bad* but it's nothing special and a little overpriced (though that's basically all fast food these days so nothing against them specifically). But a bowl of red beans and rice with a packet of Cajun Sparkle mixed in is the best.

I used to make Popeyes biscuits and they got mad at me for rolling them out a little thicker than normal so they'd be soft. My biscuits flew off the warmer while the other biscuits in there just got jealous. They make you roll them out between two metal bars attached to the table and they not sposed to be any thicker than the bar.

Haha, these videos make me realize how spoiled for choice we are here in the U.S. Fun fact: the Popeyes chicken sandwich is relatively new, and when they were launched, people were waiting in lines for HOURS to get them with many restaurants running out of them, which caused fist fights and chaos for a time. This sandwich was so successful that all fast food chains began offering their own knockoffs, none of which can remotely compare. Congrats, guys! You just ate the best fast food chicken sandwich in America!! Love you NZ fam!

Just a tip here on how to drink items like sweet tea. The point is not to sip it up all at once. In the southern heat, the ice will melt. So instead of your drink being watered down, you will retain the flavor of the drink. As for the Red beans and rice, you have to mix the rice with the beans before eating. Enjoyed the video. 😊

Al Copeland, the founder of Popeyes, had originally opened a restaurant called Chicken on the Run to very little success in 1972. He closed down to rework his recipes and reopened only three days later as Popeyes Mighty Good Fried Chicken, taking the name of Gene Hackman’s character in the film “The French Connection,” which was released only the year before. In the movie, Hackman played Jimmy “Popeye” Doyle, a New York City cop obsessed with taking down a drug operation. It won five Oscars at the 44th Academy Awards. And it had nothing to do with fried chicken.

I really enjoyed the dynamic of your relationship between your kids, your wife, your husband & how all of you spoke to each other respectfully. A lot of families seem to have personality clashes & misbehaved bratty children but your kids were a breath of fresh air. Very well mannered & very well behaved. Even some husbands & wives don't know how to talk to each other properly or respectfully. No one seemed to be talking AT each other or OVER each other & no one seemed to be irritated, annoyed or disappointed with each other either. You guys actually listen to each other & respond to each other with a sense of urgency & eagerness. I mean, I do understand that it IS KZbin after all & you guys have control over editing & maybe some things were edited out (maybe) but everything seemed to be good smoothly during the entire vid. I realize I'm sure your kids have "off days" where they might behave better than other days in the privacy of your home & @ school but in this particular video, it was impressive. You may or may not be a "perfect" family but you guys seem to be a reasonable, personable & respectful family. Which is truly a relief & a breath of fresh air. You guys Rock! 🎸 I enjoyed the actual review of the Food as well & each & every one of your comments & opinions. Great family you guys have, great content & great review! Peace & Blessings.

@myibook141 eh, debatable. Africans had been eating rice since 1000bce, and beans a 1000 years before that. The first rice cultivated in the US was in the Carolinas by African slaves. In addition, Native Americans had been eating rice and beans for 9000 years. The specific dish of red kidney beans, the trinity, and some ham or andouille is a Louisiana specific dish, but that's kinda really splitting hairs.
