All-Dressed is Canada's favorite chip flavor. It's hard to describe. It's a combo of multiple flavors, like BBQ, Salt and Vinegar, Sour Cream and Onion and Ketchup in one chip. I find most people either love it or hate it, very few people have a middling reaction to them. Poutine is one of the most Well-Known Canadian original dishes. It is French Fries, Cheese Curds and Gravy at its base, though there are many varieties, where they add things like Peas or Chicken. It's a very hearty dish, which is perfect for a place with really harsh winters like Canada.

So I had to look up "All Dressed" flavor as I had never heard of it. The description says "a mixture of salt, pepper, catsup and bbq sauce". It is apparently also a popular pizza flavor.
@acegamer50822 жыл бұрын
All dressed means the works or all the toppings for a pizza. That’s where it originated. For instance, where I’m from all dressed usually will mean Pepperoni, Salami, Ham, Mushroom, Onion, Bacon, Ground Beef and Green Pepper. It varies from place to place though.

I'm from Buffalo,NY and we border Ontario. I grew up in Fort Erie, Ontario during the summers. This tasting brought me back. I love Canada and all the tasty treats we didn't have. Planning on crossing the border for ketchup chips because of this. Thank you 😊

Ruffles, Lays, & Doritos all have the same parent food company, PepsiCo. These are all likely made at the same plant as the flavoring is sprayed on hot while the newly formed flavorless chip is formed moments before and drying on a conveyor belt. Pringles is a mega corporation by Proctor & Gamble.
@daniellysohirka50792 жыл бұрын
The most flavoured chips are made in Winnipeg. Old Dutch Company which is Canadian and base their chips more on flavor and less on salt. I'm from Manitoba so I grew up having all brands of chips.

I live in the Midwest never seen ketchup flavored anything in my local stores.Not a ketchup person anyway and I think salsa has surpassed ketchup as our most selling condiment.
@charlottemccaig5782 жыл бұрын
Actually, there is a ketchup flavored item readily available in the Midwest. I'm originally from the Chicago area and you could get 2 brands of brand potato sticks that came plain or ketchup, Andy Capp and PicNik (not certain of spelling). The PicNik came in cardboard "cans".

@@steveyork8069 They really are very good. The ketchup flavor is akin to bbq, just no smoky taste. I don't really use ketchup but those ketchup flavor potato sticks are tasty. I live in California now and both are available here. I was surprised to see them, thought it was a Midwest thing, lol. I wish the Lays ketchup chips were available. I've tried the Dressed, still sold here.

I actually like the green tea Kit-Kats. My brother lives in Japan and always brings those when he visits. He also brought sake flavored ones that actually had booze in them. They were not half bad. And one that was just wheat flavored, but it was DELICIOUS. It just had this mellow, creamy, slightly sweet taste.

Here in Canada All Dressed is our take on a Ranch +++ flavour. It's meant to be a combo of the best parts of many flavours. The mac and cheese, or as we call it "KD" is a staple in so many households here. It's great to just have handy for anytime you want a fast easy meal and you can do so much to it. One of our favorites is KD with a can of tuna mixed in. They also make a KD Pasta Salad version that is also awesome with tuna, celery and green onions chopped up into it. That's one of our summertime 'gottahaves', Lol. Great videos NZ Fam. Thank you so much.

When you are allowed to travel outside of New Zealand again you should try to visit Quebec, Canada and try poutine from the place that invented it. Poutine is one of the most popular Canadian snack foods or side dishes. Also recommend visiting the east coast of Canada they have the best lobster there and lots of beautiful scenery.

Can confirm the bbq sauce on KD. I put some bbq sauce into the water before boiling it, it makes it a bit more subtle so you can still taste the cheese.

Quick tip for making Mac n cheese from the box…. Substitute equals amounts of cream cheese for the butter or margarine 🧈 the box recipe requires…. You have a creamier richer dish for your efforts Also try using mayonnaise or olive oil instead of butter or cooking oil spray when making grilled cheese, the olive oil is especially good when using sourdough bread slices

So a couple things to point out, in Canada we don’t call it mac & cheese we call it Kraft Dinner, hence the huge KD on the box. After all we are Canadian not American and we have our differences. KD is something I prepare with butter, never margarine. It’s a pretty good lunch if you serve it with two hard-boiled eggs sliced on top and some black pepper. In Montreal we have all dressed pizza and all dressed hotdogs and all dressed hamburgers and it basically means fully loaded. The all dressed pizza has only tomato sauce and then 3 toppings (pepperoni mushrooms green peppers) and cheese that’s an all dressed pizza

Great video guys. The trick to eating ketchup and/or All dressed chips specifically is you have to keep eating them. The more you eat the more you want. The tastes become less “shocking” but also exponentially better the more you eat.
@ChaosKnight672 жыл бұрын
I'm a Canadian who works in the grocery industry. Glad you liked a lot of our products. All the chips you ate in this video minus the Pringles are made by Frito-Lay which I understand has roughly 60-70% of the market share here, so that's why they taste similar. Fun Fact, out of the 7 million boxes of Kraft Dinner(mac & cheese) sold each week globally, Canadian's buy 1.7 million. Also when Tim Hortons cereal came out last year it sold extremely well.
