I went to Sydnie's album launch in London a few weeks ago and they had a question and answer session. I got to ask Sydnie how she had managed to hold her nerves to perform such perfect vocals on the live performances. She said that her nerves built up backstage watching everyone perform in front of her, as she was performing last in both the semi and the final. She said for both performances they had to virtually lift her and carry her onto the stage as she was frozen with fear. It was only focusing on the music that got her through. She was the most lovely person to talk to, was happy to chat after and take photos with. It was a magical evening - she's as lovely as she comes across in her performances. I hope you've had a chance to listen to her album, she's going to be performing 'Believe' at the Royal Variety Performance at the end of November so I hope you'll consider reacting to it, it's very James Bond and bound to be brilliant. I also love 'She used to be mine' on the album. I'd be interested to know how, as a singing coach, you train people to perform in such away that it makes others feel strong emotion, I've never cried so much when I listen to Sydnie sing.

I absolutely love the way the person below my comment described Sydnie's magic. I have little to add except that I would follow her off a cliff like a lemming! I am mad for her and I have seen and heard all the greats ,many in person in my 77 years. I do want to say how much I adore your (Juliette?) commentary and critique. You are both kind and generous and absolutely on the money. You really know your stuff and you illuminate the performances with your know how. This was not my favorite of Sydnie's three performances, which is not to say I did love it. But you made me appreciate the dynamics intellectually and musically. I am moved by every note and word that comes out of her mouth, but I love knowing the reasons why. Other than she is just the rarest of talents.

Hi again, Juliet. Great analysis. This arrangement was made by Loren Allred (Never Enough) in a performance by Loren 4 months ago when she was on AGT Fantasy League. You had reacted to Never Enough previously, but I don’t think you reacted to this song when she sang it in the semifinals. Loren’s version is what you hear after Sydnie sings Tomorrow in her audition. Since she had only 3 days between the semifinal and the finals, BGT suggested she sing Loren’s version. Sydnie initially said no because Loren is her idol, but Loren not only approved it but also sent Sydnie a video of support. And after Sydnie won, she said her dream is to collaborate with Loren. Loren responded by offering to do a duet with her. Loren recently posted that she will be in London in early July to perform with Andrea Bocelli, so maybe they’ll get together during that time?

This whole arrangement: It sounds like that great singer in the movie Greatest Showman that Hugh Jackman's character bet his life on to put on the stage. But not only the arrangement and delivery, lights, intensity, her voice, the whole thing. But also, that very first part of Over the Rainbow at 3:55 exactly there, "someday I wish upon a star, and wake up where the clouds are far behind me... ...... that's where you'll find me.... Somewhere over the rainbow, Skies are blue"..... THERE. That is not only the arangement from the Israel Hawaiian chap with the ukelele - but it is also a lot like the song "Never Enough"... listen to "The Greatest Showman Never Enough"😊 She is beautiful. She also has a Judy Garland vibe here and there.

... at the build-up to the finish, the orchestra has moved from a half-time feel to a double time feel, and she is climbing a ladder to that huge last belt. Then right when she gets there, the orchestra drops out and leaves you and your heart hanging only on the sound of her voice, and she holds it, and holds it, and holds it... and then lifts it up a half-step... and then you are floating in space for a moment, holding your breathe, and she catches you softly when you start to fall with that breathy "I" at the very end. And then you can see in her face a release of all the emotion she must be feeling, and more often than not it makes this crusty old bald guy have a pretty good sob. She's just spectacular. And your analysis here is the best I have seen of all the ones I have watched (which is all of them).

I got a distinct Celine Dione feel when she hit the "that I heard of" in the beginning of the video. Then she morphs into a decidedly Lauren Allred belting of the tune. A good singer takes from other good singers in order to form who they want to be as an artist. The end result is originality.

I am neither a singer nor a voice scholar. I am in no position to judge Sydnie technically compared to other great singers, although it is obvious she is a great talent who has worked hard at her craft. But then great art is always about more than craft and technique. It's about communicating essential truths about the universal human condition in a way that engages us intellectually and emotionally. One of the most fundamental human needs is to be recognized for who we are and what we do. Obviously Sydnie made each of these powerful performances deeply personal- even changing the lyrics in Tomorrow and My Way- but she also, as made clear by the overwhelming response, tapped deeply into that almost universal desire to "be heard," as she said to Ant and Dec after her audition. We could identify with her- made even easier by how funny and engaging she is. I hope she has a long and successful career and it will be interesting, as her life experiences evolve, to see how she might perform these same songs in 5,10,15,20,30 years from now.

Yes, mystifying almost: maybe it's because she wants to be on the stage and not directly on the radio. Only, the stage was never yet opened for her.....looks like she's more open to the alternative too now. She's gonna go very far, now!

She is fantastic! Sadly, vocal talent and skill is a very small piece of what makes recording artists successful, in most cases. With that said, I think Sydnie has many exciting things ahead of her in her career!

I was looking at the comments made and I seen Loren Allred video of her version of Some Where Over The Rainbow IMHO Sydnie is better! Sydie draws you in by all the the nuance's and the liberty of her phases of the lyrics. A lot of people are saying she should be performing in Broadway and Venues like that. I totally disagree with that. She should make her own album and tour the World! 👋👋😃

They suggested it for her, and she said no, that's Lauren's (Alford's) song, her idol. Somehow, Lauren found out and message her to use it. Lauren then sent her a tape of several versions they had tried. Sydnie said 99% of the song and arrangement were Lauren's.

You think that she can’t get stronger, and then Sydnie turns on that vocal afterburner in the end. Holly sh… And that last note is the equivalent of a negative G feeling.

Pleased for her n'all, but we've heard three short songs from her, and the hyperbole from the judges, amplified in these comments, is the most extreme and over-the-top hyperbole I've heard in the whole world of all time ever. I am literally on fire I'm so stoked. But I also think it's a little bit excessive. One factoid I saw was that 'Sydnie's triumph at BGT is the first ever by a woman without a dog'. Wow, she doesn't have a dog, doesn't that blow your mind? Well, as a matter of fact, no, since you ask. These reality talent shows are not really about talent, but they use the lives of ordinary people (who are inexpensive and easily manipulated) as story lines in a soapy syrupy drama, that on this occasion has cast the spotlight on the woman without a dog. How will she fare as a professional singer, competing for attention with other professional singers? Only time will tell. One thing she does have though is a great name that already includes the mandatory quirky spelling that helps to catch the public's attention. I can see her being an obvious choice for Christmas TV specials, obviously, cos the show titles write themselves; and also panto, a great seasonal tradition in the UK, and the only live theatre many people ever see, so they're easily pleased. So with that name and this repertoire, a great future awaits her, on the provincial panto circuit, for a couple of years at least. Or maybe she will be huge, who knows? I hear a big voice, I'm not sure I hear the great voice that other people seem to hear.
