Thank you for this. My husband just returned home Thursday at open heart surgery and the hospital did not teach us this. This is very helpful so he won’t hurt himself. Thank you again.

Hope he does well. Any other tips you discover let me know. I'm 50 and getting 3x bypass on the 5th. Live alone and my sisters live close but are well older than me.

Just got out of open heart can't tell you how important it is to master this technique. If you don't have the right pillow get one cuz it's for getting in and out of chairs beds it's for sneezing coughing getting out of the car etc that pillow is the best tool I may have ever owned😂

How can anyone sleep on their back all night!
@ballardbrad4 ай бұрын
I'm with you. I fall asleep on side, if I wind up on back for more than a minute I wake right up!
@jonbowles5083 ай бұрын
I sleep on my side predominantly the answer to your question is simple you can't. It's hard enough to have gravity down on your wound when you're laying on your back if you go on your side you have the gravity plus your body is pinching crushing the wound you just won't do it❤ expect to sleep in piecemeal get a 10 mg melatonin cut your pain pill in half for sleeping.

@@jonbowles508 Thank you Jon. Came home yesterday and you are right its a few minutes here and there. Lots of dreams, quick bursts of sleep. Never been a back sleeper. Day 1... it can only get better from here!!

It’s miserable. I’m a stomach sleeper and it takes quite a while to get comfortable on my back enough to sleep. I’m 3 weeks post surgery and can’t lay on my side comfortable either.
