Phenomenal playing by all involved. I was apprehensive about how the vocals would turn out (as Jon Anderson's voice is so distinctive), but when Tim started singing I could have sworn it was the man himself! Thanks once again for these collaboration videos.

+yoochoobb You're very welcome from all of us! We definitely couldn't do any of these Yes tribute without Tim, that's for sure. There will always be someone who can play the guitar, bass, keys and drum parts, but Jon's voice is very distinctive that few can cover authentically well.

Man, the improvisational bit in the middle of the song was nothing short of absolutely superb! You don't see too many Yes tributes who have the capability of taking over ownership of a Yes tune (in a manner of speaking) like that! You made it YOURS and I really like that! @@17drums You’re welcome. You’re all fabulous. Loving seeing and hearing you all. Yes, that’s quite a coincidence that ‘The Yes Album’ set us both on the same path of ‘Yes’ fans for life. I was 15 back then in 1971 and I remember clearly, on hearing ‘Yours Is No Disgrace’ opening side 1 and being blown away. And then the same feeling with ‘Starship Trooper’. But I’ll also never forget when I turned the Album over, what greeted me, when the stylus delivered, ‘I’ve Seen All Good People’. I was mesmerised. Those opening harmonies, then the beautiful acoustic guitar, leading to Jon’s wonderful solo voice. Goosebumps every time. You should add that to your list too if ever possible. Thank you again, for keeping this sensational music that we all love so dearly, so beautifully alive. Just my own feelings. 🎶❤️🎶

Superb collaboration. Congrats to you, July, Tim and your brother Jim. Not only is the performing mind blowing but the sound is top notch. 10/10. I got to see Yes perform in New Bedford Ma as part of their “Rite of Spring” tour in 2011. I took my two sons and it was incredible. All original members except for Oliver Wakeman (Rick's son) on keys and Benoit David on vocals who certainly held their own. Congratulations to you all again. Well deserved......Nick
@17drums9 жыл бұрын
readyeddy101 Thanks, Nick! I've seen Yes play about 6 times back in the 70's. To me, the definitive line-up was Bruford, Wakeman, Howe, Squire, and Anderson. I regret never getting to see them with Bruford, though. And I did see them once also with Patrick Moraz on keys, (though I much preferred Wakeman). Unfortunately, I just read that Chris Squire is battling leukemia.

holy cow!!! This takes balls. I thought I was brave trying to do the studio version. Playing circles and circles around the rest. Thanks for keeping the bar super high. Not big on the massive computerized voice layers. But I don't claim to be an expert on those. Fantastic recreation of the live stuff that originally hooked me.
@17drums4 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much from all of us! The voice layers were all actually sung by my brother (who's not in the video). I thought you guys did a fantastic job covering the studio version. You all played it through in a single performance whereas we were able to record our individual parts and choose the tracks we each liked to be incorporated into the whole project. The funny thing is that your video was a live performance of the studio version but our video was a studio effort of a live performance.
@bizoy20094 жыл бұрын
@@17drums good catch on the irony lol. Yeah it was a live performance all the way through. You can tell at the end, those final guitar runs, my fingers turned to jello. That was the third take if I recall. Crashed and burned the first two takes. We had never played that song before we got together that day in the room. Back then I used to have fun calling different musician friends and saying we’re gonna learn these three songs in the next week. And everyone would show up and I would film us playing them for the first time. The sad thing is we would never play them again.
@17drums4 жыл бұрын
@@bizoy2009 Yeah, but you guys still had the hard part--to record the entire song in one live take. We at least had the leisure of doing individual multiple takes and then selecting the best one for the collaboration. Also, we were able to add multiple guitar parts at once. Anyway, at least we're all part of an elite group. We covered 'Yours is no Disgrace!"
