This is an excellent example of how good radio shows could be. The extended form of this series allowed for a complex, engaging and exciting story. It’s lost art and what remains (these shows) are completely overlooked by people who turn off their brains and turn to film and television. I can’t describe the images my mind created while listening to this particular show. All I can say is that every character, every scene, every emotion was completely detailed-through the use of the spoken word alone. I feel sorry for people who have never had the opportunity to let their own imagination fill-in the world that radio shows open.

Those who love radio are auditory; we prefer sound to visuals

Definitely a different time lol. Now days beating the hell out of someone you think is guilty without proof to get a "confession" wouldn't exactly be tolerated. Genuinely cracks me up that back in the day this was considered good detective work. or good vigilantism. Certainly a confession like that would be ignored in the courts anyway. But it's amusing what folks even just 50-70 years ago considered heroic compared to today. Still I enjoy listening to old time radio. Entertaining in various different ways. It's interesting to hear what people use to consider heroic or funny. but I appreciate NPR replaying these old programs. I always enjoyable.

This case was to cut and dried and Johnny Dollar knew it. He never thought that Amy was the kind of woman who would have done what she was accused of and committed suicide.

Why play that annoying theme music three times after each episode?
