I always felt a great connection to this song not knowing understanding the words. Now I see the translation and know that what I felt when listening to this masterpiece is from our ancestors. It is in our genes and those that are linked will feel it. We are one.

This is fantastic! Who is the Kora player? I am glad I found this. I do not speak Wolof, but Youssou’s music has always spoken to me. I have asked before for a translation of the lyrics to “africa remembers” but never got this much. A song that has always moved me now has even more meaning.
