Youth Basketball Coach Rejects Own Player's Shot

Coached junior high basketball and one of the kids had no interest and had never played sports before. Finally by the last game of the regular season he makes an incredible rebound and goes right back up and puts it in to win the game! I was so impressed and proud really… only problem was it was the game winning shot for the other team. I told him that was really great you just got to remember which hoop you are supposed to be shooting at. My buddy was the coach of the other team and he was laughing away. We later beat them in the championship series.

I counted 6 players in black, I think one was a little girl even. Counted only 4 in red. Looks like one of the black jerseys was supposed to be on the reds team. That's what caused the little kid to get confused. I always hated when coaches did that back in the day, loan one of your teammates to another team because they are short one.

I coach kids and I hate giving up a player. the kids are okay with it but logically they have zero clue what do to with kids from another team
