Youth Convention 2024, Focus Session: Being Chakhesang (day 3)

Some are complaining about the language here saying many villagers will not understand because it is not their language, which is true. This is exactly what happens in Chakhesang gatherings when only Chokri or Kheza is spoken especially in our churches. Imagine a regular situation where a Chokri person who don’t understand Kheza at all attending a Chakhesang program where the whole service is conducted in Kheza and Kheza sitting in meeting where only Chokri is spoken. We have become a community where we are mostly concerned only about own dialect and not concerned about other language groups. We seem to be more concerned about own dialect rather than teaching and communicating with understanding. Let us all have mutual respect and give effort to learn each other’s dialects. Long Live Chakhesangs!

I have seen the most intellectual MLA'S from chakhesang tribe are Z. Lohe and K.therie.... guess Vamuzo is an intellectual guy.

Vamuzo is not only intellectual. He is the best CM of Nagaland so far. He is also one of the most God fearing politician. His footprints were also not written by Chakhesang people but other tribes. Read his biography. You'll learn more.

@@nesaruchuzho If Vamuzo is still with us till today we as Chakhesangs in particular and Nagas in general could have been much more better than what we are now. I don't mean present leaders are not good but in addition to what we have achieved so far without his physical presence. Despite of his achievements where he first brought development to Nagaland as a whole instead of his only his own Constituency or tribe then later he plan to start his work in his constituencies but he passed away before fulfilling his many visions and dreams. He doesn't deal with only Indian leaders alone but he deal with many international leaders as well. May God bless us with another Vamuzo to lead us again.

Looks like a lot of our brothers and sisters are concerned only about the negative side of his speech. Him speaking English against the given topic is because the congregation is a mixture of Chokri and Khezha and few Zamai probably so he didn't want anyone to miss his points. As for the Chokri which he was comfortably switching to, he could have minimized that and make it a full English speech. Had it been a Chokri people's conference, he's no fool to use English so let us be logical in our judgements.
