We have seen a 44% growth in the number of youth farmers enrolled in our Nisela Organic Farming Programme since 2020! The youth of our rural community is discovering opportunities for entrepreneurial spirit and economic prosperity. We caught up with Thabiso and Ntobeko to see them getting their hands dirty, right here in the place they call home. With new ideas and loads of ambition, they tell us what it's all about!
With high youth unemployment rates in South Africa, we are encouraged by our youth and their contribution to sustainable food security and the local economy.

Love to see young farmers like myself being so motivated! Keep it up, we can do this =D I can highly recommend getting informed about permaculture, mulching and the soil food web. It literally changed my life, saved me a lot of work, money and stress! Much love from Germany

It is delightful 😊 to see 👀 the Young Farmers at work. What a marvelous sight!! Abba Yah is with you... keep up the good work, and when you see 👀 an opportunity or tool to make you more productive, try to incorporate it into your work. About the grubs eating the crops, look on You Tube for "Natural Insect Killers" or Natural fertilizers and make your own to use on your crops.

This is very good keep it up. Every venture starts small ,, yes all the Dutch commercial farmers you see àŕound were like you before they became successful commercial farmers but they persevered ,, keep on going for it .

The Austrian trick to make organic food sustainable was to show consumers why healthy costed more and was better. In Africa and India promoting people to grow as much of their own organic food in their backyard is the most viable option. It's also good to plant fruit trees outside of schools and to plant butternut and creeper type veggies in open fields.
